I love the campaign sheet with the masks, hearts etc. where you can unlock stuff! I already pre-ordered my copy of this expansion as an Essen pick-up, can't wait to get and try it :)
Any chance of videos of the rest of the campaign? I'm not sure how the narrative will hold up, but the varied scenario goals and unlocks are intriguing.
Awesome playthrough as always Mike! Looking forward to getting my copy hopefully not too far down the track. Lost Ruins is also my fav "Euro" type game and I am with you that not many Euros seem to click with me but this one definitely scratches something for me. I look forward to the campaign. I imagine there are no purple tiles in the expansion?

0:30 Gah! Spoilers! *runs* I shall return after I play the first scenario. Games should be here next week **knocks on wood**, but I suspect I'll play a few vanilla solo games before trying this.
I had the base and previous expansion but sold after 10 plays. Unfortunately the game ends up being just an "icon follow". The theme quickly fades after one play. I'm not big on euros but Viticulture, Obsession, everdell has way more theme than Arnak.
So far on chapter 2 still, and while it is interesting specially if you like to play co-op I must say that the journalist leader is bad. When you compare it to the mechanic its not even fair. In order to get any of your "bonus" you have to spend resources to explore and then spend another travel cost just to get a 1 time use article. It just seems a bit of poor testing, because the concept of the leader is really nice. Maybe just making the feature articles possible to get with the card (mind you have 1 card only and 2/3 feature articles) without having to pay a plane in travel cost, or maybe you also have newspapers on the basic locations, maybe this would help dunno. I will probably just choose another leader moving forward. Enjoying the campaign besides the frustration of playing the journalist ahah.
@@christiancraig2326it’s hard to remember exactly, but I think the “I can’t do it twice” is referring to me needing two movement icons to do the action I wanted to do, but I only have one blue idol spot left so I couldn’t put two idols there to gain two gear bonuses earning the two movement that way 😅 But yes you can absolutely cover the second blue spot with an idol during the game
