Sein "Doppelpack" 1966 beim EP-Spiel gegen Westham United war die "Fahrkarte" zum Cup Final....

Scored an incredible left-footed half-volley from a ludicrously tight angle in a 1966 WC group match v Spain and had a brilliant goalscoring record in the Bundesliga - yet only played six times for his country, including a WC final, SF and QF! Must be one of the strangest international records of all time. Any other country would have given their eye-teeth to have him - but I suppose every other country didn't have Gerd Muller waiting in the wings, either. Germany DOES have a bit of talent, you have to admit.
