Well Mack I hope you don’t mind me saying that I kinda feel a little sad about you sacrificing a lot of your prized SUN records. But you have a good point in saying in effect when your gone from this world there is no taking them with you. I guess all of us record hunters and collectors do seriously need to think about that. I hope you have a happy and safe new year Mack and let’s hope it’s better than the last two years.
15:38 I have the Imperials' full "To Sing Is The Thing" LP from 1967 (the front cover uses the same image as that 45), which is the last Imperials album before Jake Hess left. On the album those are songs A6 and B2, I believe. The Imperials are (or were) very popular in contemporary Christian music, and arguably their most famous lineup is 1976-1981 (bass Armond Morales, born 1932; baritone David Will, 1943-2022; lead singer Russ Taff, born 1953; and tenor Jim Murray, born 1944).
Hey Mack, That coffee sure did kick in! Must have been high octane! I had a hard time keeping up with you flying through those 45s - had to pause you quite a few times to get a closer look at some of those promos!
The less that is said about the track Knoxville Girl the better as it seems to glorify murder and would have been better if it didn't see the light of day.
