Don't buy luxury cars. Hire them as and when you need, but have a runaround for your day-to-day business. Don't buy a jet, hire one when you need. Otherwise it's poor money management to splurge on so many things that depreciate without moving.
Fly commercial or if you don't like to wait then like you said book a private jet. Maintenance, keeping park fee, fuel, pilots,and landing fee. 5 million is a big percent of her money.

The monitoring spirit does not really cause affliction but it gives your info to a spirit that will give you some type of negative outcome. She does seem very sweet and loving but when she elected to be a foster mother, her first priority should have been herself as the caregiver and the children. She bought 2Bentleys as family cars and spent thousands on designer handbags. She seemed mature and intelligent but her actions were past crazy.
I literally gasped loudly when I read that shes now broke and filed for bankruptcy... it happens so so often. You get 22 million and your FIRST thought is, let me buy 500,000 worth of cars that will depreciate immediately as I drive them off the lot. 10 million into property would net her around $60,000 a MONTH in passive income. MORE than enough to live off of for the rest of her life... insane. Make sure you all learn how to invest just incase this happens to you as well.
I looked into annuities at my age with 5 million life paid 18k per month for life. 5 year annuity paid 55k per month. That's at my age. Just played with numbers a bit. It's there. You just need to shop around for the best wealth and financial advisors. Wasteful spending I thought of top 🙄

No one should be buying those expensive cars, jet, or whatever. I wouldn't have spent that much. When I win, I'm going to make sure I pay off my mortgage and debt. Pay for my daughter to finish college and open trusts for my children and grandson.

I love how Helen and the Foote Family focused their initial spending on more basic things like better housing and more reliable vehicles. I would want to do the same thing Helen did, pay off the home and car first, totally makes sense. Now she has a load off her shoulders and can really focus more on enjoying her daughters, especially while they're still children.

As you said, everyone has a different view on how they would want to spend the money. Enjoying luxury should not be taboo or anything to feel guilty about, but management of that is certainly important. We all have different backgrounds which influence how we would want to spend the money. Some grew up without travelling, so might want to spend a large portion of their money doing that. If you didn’t come from money whatsoever, then you would certainly splurge on expensive cars or the like. The only problem is when that spending gets excessive. But these stories are definitely both inspiring and cautionary!

She would have had a financial professional invest that money for her into safe bonds and annuities and she'd be making about $70,000 to $80,000 per month.
Yes, but you can buy bonds yourself, there’s no need to hire someone for that. Securing your money in banks is going to be the trickiest part of that kind of windfall.
Flying private isn’t too bad if you get into fractional ownership or charter, but buying a $5-$8mil jet w a $1.5mil/year fixed & operating cost is absurd, unless you’re over the $100mil net worth mark.
I couldn't agree with you more. Even Missy Elliott said she wouldn't buy (or I think even rent!) a private jet for herself because she wasn't about those maintenance costs. I thought it would have been painfully obvious to Cynthia she couldn't afford a private jet. Boy was I wrong!!

Thanks to Cynthia and all the others who "lost" their windfall or made very poor financial choices, we can learn from their mistakes. Also, her brother literally died (before she won the money) we you can't blame her for putting people before money and giving much of it away. She doesn't know when the next family member could die, which would explain why she's split it with them.
