Selecting sport mode on the Evora GT opens the exhaust valve and raises the redline from 6,600rpm to 7,000rpm. ESP settings are also reduced (but still active).

I greatly appreciate the Lotus air time and love on this channel. Many other great automotive channels only quote Colin Chapman and compare great cars to Lotus ethos, but never really review it as extensively as they should. I've been subscribed to the top automotive review channels for well around 7 years or so, and I can't tell you how bored I am of new Porsche reviews. There's a new 911 or Cayman variant every week it seems. Porsche churn out great cars, no doubt, but the content is over-saturating anymore.

Todd, I split my daily driving duties between a 2021 Evora GT (42k miles) and a 2005 Elise (56k miles). Living in the Northeast, I put All-Season tires on both and drive them in any conditions!!! I’ll get an Emira someday and put All-Seasons on it too!!

That 2GR-FSE (direct injection) / 2GR-FE is a very reliable engine. Had one with 237 K and there was no sign of deteriorating performance.

Evora is one of my favorite cars from Lotus. We never had the "normal" GT in Europe though. Instead we had the Evora 400, Evora Sport 410 and Evora GT430 after the first versions which were the Evora and the Evora S.

That immobilizer thing seems to vex people but it’s as simple as this: if you don’t start the car within X many seconds of unlocking it, it times out, and you have to hit the button. That’s it, that’s the whole thing.

I think your speedometer is broke, or something wrong with the camera, when you go above 70 mph it just blacks out

oh hell yes. been waiting for this vid!!!

My V8 Esprit has the same immobilizer option. If you wait 30 seconds and don't start the car after unlocking you have to unlock the car again (i.e. reset the immobilizer)

You are driving it in normal mode with the valves closed. At least drive in sport mode. The valves open automatically then.

Is this from a GoPro? What head mount are you using?

Did the Evora 400 ride a bit softer?
