Lotus Exige Sport 380 Review 

Nothing, not even a Lamborghini, looks as great as an Elise or Exige in those extreme colors. I think it's the Hot Wheels vibe they give off. I had to watch the beginning a second time because the shot of the carbon fiber boot distracted me too much! Nice work from Lotus and you, James.

There are lots more 'noisy' track days now. Sure the current exhaust limits the number you can do but if you look hard enough you can find them. I am certainly of the opinion that its better to have a limited number of track days to choose from than a quieter exhaust. It is such a large part of its character. The crescendo is exotic and I feel without it , it is hard to justify the money Lotus is asking. So I don't see the exhaust as an oversight but more as a necessity for Lotus for a car at this level.

Good to see you keep visiting your Lotus dealer but not for the age old stereotype of repairs, love the Sport 380.

How to make a perfect track weapon? Buy Exige 380 and get it upgraded in Komo-Tec for 460HP. Supercar killer :)

Agree with the comment RE:350 vs 380 price point. Though I'd also throw the original V6 into the ring. Obviously it doesnt have the gearbox advancements from the Evora. But I'd say; give all of them a try before you decide. The gearbox on my road test did not present itself to be considerably worse, so I opted for the V6. I can't comment on the gearbox differences on track, though with £1k invested in a gearbox cooler, I can tell you that mine performs very well.

Great points regarding the seats and exhaust noise. I can't stand "creaking" noises in my cars. They drive me nuts. I've got one in my driver's side door on my Gen V Viper GTS. If I keep the window rolled down.....no problem. Window up, and the body flex causes a bit of a "creak" over certain bumps........arrrrggggg. The purpose of the Lotus is definitely as a track day car, you've touched on a very real problem with the exhaust......... I don't often see people addressing this issue....... Subscribed ;)

Well done video. Is rather funny Lotus has so much trouble getting seats. I dislike my lotus 400 seats and prior evora had better racarros. Should of left the same. What brand is in the 380? Mike

Anorher great review of a great car .. As far as the exhaust noise go .. then maybe Lotus should think about offering the other quieter exhaust at no cost .. therefore customer chooses between either noisy or quiet lol ..

Great vid. Know those roads well. Drove the 350 the other day followed by the F430. Preferred the 350! So would love to try the 380. Got to ask, how do you film on the side of the car facing forward. I tried that but mine just bounces about everywhere.

Love the colour and it sounds fantastic. I didn't think the GT4 was being made anymore, I thought it was a limited number? That's a bold statement, :) and the carbon being Mclaren good, If your right any Englishman that buys a Camen is a traitor. :)

best car In the range imo, be a nice buy on the 50/50 hand backs in 2 years :-) nice review .The exhaust is a issue mind you :-( for a track car !

that lotus does look so good and that green is top! 80-90k is a lot of dosh and talking same price as new Nissan GTR wich is probley quicker on track and much better car to live with"

Personally I don't think 30.000€ more from the 350 are worth. You just feel more downforce on high speed track and the extra horsepowers are really not necessary most of the time. Agree ?

This one made me smile. Maybe it was the choice of roads, but James Martin looked more like a James Bond villain being shaken to death, not stirred, during the in-car shots. As to this car's appearance, I would say that it looks like a racing car without sponsor decals and would therefore be perfectly at home on a track day; let's hope that the drivers abilities don't embarrass the looks of the car. Off track however, unless the windows have a dark tint, who would want to be seen in this gaudy circus car while waiting at the lights? Buyers with this kind of money are not usually those who wear their baseball caps backwards, earrings and tattoos leaving all other adults to cringe a little when seen in what looks like a toy Le Mans car.

The ride quality looks...................terrible.................
