​@@illerhumpy3867 You see my good fellow, nowhere in the comment above did they actually mention the humour or funniness of the choice of roleplay that Lou committed to. They were showing their admiration for Lou and praising his willingness to put himself and his character in a categorically much worse place than he needs to, solely for the purpose of dedicated roleplay and memorable entertainment. Had he simply barfed in front of the other intrepid heroes it wouldn't have been much of a moment, but projectile pooping onto his teacher leading to a student quitting school and renouncing their dreams forever, is, though perhaps not the peak of humour, a much more memorable moment in my humble opinion.

@@illerhumpy3867The point isn’t “haha poop funny”, the point is Lou chose to make the curse manifest in a situation with actual risks/consequences, rather than letting his character get off easy, so that the curse can actually have some sort of narrative or character impact rather than just be a throwaway bit.

Brennan said "bodily function", not "bodily fluid." Lou could have taken it literally instead of as a euphemism, and just sneezed or gotten the hiccups. Maybe he got a cramp in his leg, or gained a level of exhaustion because he couldn't sleep for a night. It didn't have to be gross, it didn't have to be absolutely disgusting and a big mess.

No one commits to a roll, good or bad, like Lou.

Once the rage mechanic (5 levels of stress) was explained to me and this kid went off, it instantly clicked that every student has the same mechanic. Poor guy hit 5 levels of stress.

I don’t think it’s that suspicious, actually. The PC’s are assuming they’re the only ones being affected by the stress mechanic. All these NPC’s must be more or equally stressed.

There's a very thin line between Ally's "I do this for a bit and I'm fully committing to it because it'd be funnier to fall 10 stories going for an impossible acrobatic maneuver with -3 dex", and Lou's "this is not a bit, this is exactly what would happen if I'm trusting my dedication to my character". It's a very thin, almost imperceptible line, but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

That isn't cringe at all, in my opinion. Fabian's bodily malfunction is cringe-inducingly socially isolating, but the teacher firmly stating that he shouldn't be ostracised for this one-off freak accident is incredibly sweet. This event doesn't speak to the quality of Fabian's character, only alluding to potential health issues, but in a stereotypical high school setting it could realistically destroy his social standing. The educator immediately stepping in to contextualize the circumstances and mitigate harm is ideal caretaking.

In Adventuring Party, Zac pointed out that Brennan gave Lou some amount of control as to what happened. Lou said , essentially, yes, but Brennan knows the kind of choices of big choices he makes. Lou always swings for the fences role-play. I respect that.

The BBEG of this season is causing characters to fly into an uncontrollable rage. The tokens are there to keep track of who's been impacted the most at a glance.

They're using a homebrew downtime system with stress mechanics. If you get too much stress you get a rage token and permanently ruin a relationship

There's a big focus on the passage of time in this campaign. You still go to major story beats and set pieces, but there are eps in-between that simulate the weeks of grinding work to get to those new moments. To really feel the intensity of it, they're essentially playing 2 different games this campaign where "down-time" uses the characters' D&D skills but with heightened stakes with stress and rage tokens that act as permanent debuffs essentially
