in this essay i will- this vid is a joke if that wasn’t clear, i love lou very much i just wanted to tease him a bit. So pls stop leaving mean comments i’m just a teenage girl of 22
I think Warlock is perfect for the horror season. He says that his soul will always be his own, but then you take his soul for that added horror for the player.
That's what Amir bloominfeld says comment that he gets in trouble for saying the funniest thing he can think of regardless of his actual opinion And he comes off as mean
@@dreamspeakhomie Where does Amir say this, I am interested. I definitely do this myself lol sometimes I can go quite awhile not actually saying something I mean because I'm a silly goose
Why does everyone make Brennan almost die as soon as he takes a drink of water? First Zac with “Josh has to leave in four minutes” and now Lou’s “Gimme one second, don’t talk.”
4:12 "hold on, I'm gonna do a bit" and delaying forever is possibly the hardest I've laughed because of Lou, and that's really saying something considering how funny he is
1:48 To be fair, those are his father's dice, which were his grandfather's dice, which will someday be passed down to Lou's own child, so it's okay for him to take ownership and be proud of his singular pair of dice.
with those other clips in the video i think lou's dice take is specifically that "i love my one set of dice and the idea that i can roll better with other dice is evil"
Not directly related but I love the bit during ASO when Ally as Margaret turns "I slap X then kiss them" into an escalating running gag, only for Lou as Gunnie to try to rein it in by saying "Stop! No more slapping! We're not normalising this!" ... and immediately gets slapped and kissed by Emily as Sidney. 🤣🤣🤣
0:58 - And it was at this moment, on this day that a chill went down the spine of Travis Willingham and he shook in fear for he knew what the future had in store for his former castmate Lou Wilson once Laura Bailey saw this video and became Lou's real life Big Bad.
@@QuillanWilson lol now I'm picturing Lou crying on Travis' shoulder, Travis asks him what's wrong and Lou replies "She said she was gonna shit in my MOOUUUTTHHH!!!"
Look in theory I am a single dice set use them until they’re spent type of person, but in practice I like collecting shiny things and dice tend to be cheaper than jewelry
I have to ask. I have to. If it's, like, proper dice, with embedded numbers, *how long* does it take for them to be *spent*? Like, that is genuinely inconceivable to me.
@@totalweirdo8538 I guess I mean, until they’re no longer usuable, like after a couple years they get dinged up and scratched or you lose them so eventually they need replacing
You only NEED one set, but its much more convenient to have multiple sets. I don't wanna wait for you to roll 8d6 one by one cause you only have one d6
Yeah, ideally you'd have enough dice to fulfill every ability on your character sheet without needing to borrow dice or double up. It also helps cut back on forgetting what the previous roll said and/or needing to trust someone who may be cheating. Like, at my table we have a rule that you roll and then the dice stay on the table while you report the results, because we used to have a guy who'd roll and snatch the die up off the table so nobody could check that he was telling the truth about his rolls, his average suddenly dropped as soon as we implemented that rule.
@@sidhackney8831 I think there's actually an element of drama with seeing each roll. It's like watching every single attack land in a combo. Your 4d4 Magic Missile bolts will all strike in succession and you'll get to watch each one hit. I guess this just gets more tedious as you level up since you'll be rolling more dice. So maybe start your D&D career at a low level and buy the dice as you level up and feel you need them.
ok but the dice thing is right! do I need 6 sets of dice? NO! do I want them because my old ones are bad? ALSO NO! do I want them because wow pretty objects??? Y E S ! !
I don't have enough faith that every set of dice I own is perfectly-weighted with zero voids. So multiple sets to ensure I'm not rolling the same cluster of numbers over and over is nice
“saving the traditional peanut butter nuclear family” i usally dont watch other d20 channels cause im afraid of stealing their ideas or being deterred from making a video thats already been clipped, but i couldnt write this shit if i tried
Lol I love Lou’s dice quirks. Hilarious to see even him have some superstitions pushed up to the service when Brennan really has the pressure on the party
As someone watching Sophomore Year rn, can say Lou definitely hits max hypocrite with the attempted dice baptism 😂 not superstitious my ass (though I will admit, if there ever was a time to despair and become superstitious it was then, that was like five nat ones in a row)
0:05 i think the fact that this episode came out right before Neverafter started where they had the episode three travesty is hilarious. immediately proven wrong 😂
Honestly I'm with Lou on this, though we may possibly have slightly different definitions of what is a "set" of dice. Most dice sets come as a one of each die varietal, and that's just not practical in a game that consistently requires you to roll multiples of the same kind of die. I bought a bag of dice waaay back when I started playing, which I think amounted to around 20 "sets". Came in a nice little cloth bag with "bag of holding" embroidered on it. More dice than I will ever possibly need and cost me about $30. My one and only dice purchase that I've made over the course of my 20+ years in the hobby, and still serving me well to this very day :p
Real talk: both ADHD and ASD give a person problems with object permanence. If I have to roll multiple of the same kind of dice (like with Sneak Attack, Fireball, or any number of common situations) under pressure (like a DM trying to keep combat moving so it doesn't take nine hours), I will straight-up forget what any of them rolled. Sure, I _could_ write them down or use a calculator... or I could have extra dice.
Ooh okay it's not object permanence!! We do have that, we do have the _understanding_ that objects continue to exist outside of our perception, we just have working memory issues and _forget_ about stuff But yes I have the same thing unless I literally chant the numbers as part of a running commentary and at least air-write my calculations
no sir. i disagree. in 2023 you don't need ANY sets of dice. there's about a hundred thousand online dice rollers. in the year of our lord 2023, let me tell you folks you don't need a single set of real dice for your game. That being said I do in fact have about 30,000 sets of dice
Look I kinda agree, if you’re replacing your dice out of superstition you’re very silly. But that being said I would probably change out my dice every new campaign and get ones that match my character!
ehh, totally need more than one set of dice. not because of any sort of superstition, but for aesthetics. some dice look better than others in different situations/for different characters.
