When your job is to growl like satan. You dont need to be loud when your not singing. Lol jokes aside johns chill as fuck .i met him few times at his shows super chill and humble. Hes my fav guitarist and itold him so and he was super chill and cool to talk with.
i went to see dying fetus in 2008 in Glasgow scotland when the taxi driver asked who we were going to see, i replied "dying fetus" so he almost broke his neck and shouted back to us "DIABETES?? who would call a band that""" so i said "NO, they are called dying fetus not diabetes" then he said "ahh i thought you said diabetes" then he also said "metal fans are the best, i get no grief of them" long story short i saw the heaviest 3 piece band play that night true story
I met John last night at the bar after Dying Fetus played on stage(Hatebreed was on stage), and he was cool as fuck. Really nice and I felt like a prick for bothering him but he was awesome. Drummer was really cool too, didn’t get to meet Sean the bassist.
Back in 2013 i got to hang out with the whole band when they came to reno, cause they were eating at a local spot, spent like 2 hours talking them and they were cool as fuck, then saw them again in 2014 in Tahoe and my girlfriend at the time and I got to smoke with them after their set
This guy is the chillest , and imo, the best guitarist out there in his genre of music. Everything he plays is the catchiest and just crammed full of the most badass riffs. Its like you never have to listen through some ok ish stuff to get to the killer parts, its all just fucking badass.
This guy is so amazingly chill. I love his personality, down to earth and relaxed. Can't believe he makes such brutal music. Actually, Karl Sanders from Nile is just such a chill softspoken dude but brutal when it comes to music. Love this interview.
we played with you guys in Cleveland my homeland !was a tour with dying fetus skinless gorfest and berserker from Australia!and 3 local bands one was us kryptic embrace and molded hate!\m/me john and kevin had blast aftershow party man was prob like 95 was destroy opposition tour so ya was youngsters bro\m/but we had our thrills on blueberryhillll :)-
Ive met john 3 times and hes actually so fucking cool in person, such a nice guy. He is also always down to sign the merch i bring him lol, and always tells me a story based on some piece of merch I have which is always great. This was one of the best interviews Ive ever seen. Great questions and conversation, and never seen a death metal artists do the sit down in a small room with fans sitting on the floor style interview, I wish more extreme metal bands did this lol
all of Fetus are cool people I've spent time with Sean and John and they are real intelligent polite people totally aware of the current state of the planet.Their lyrics are well worth reading
haha oh wow, we played with them as our first big show, and then with Goatwhore a month later. What a coincidence he is wearing that shirt. Both great bands! Meeting this guy was so cool, definitely a highlight of the night
I have only been listening to Dying Fetus for about 8 months now by recommendation from a fellow metal head , I listened to reign supreme I think and ask my friend is this basically how all their albums are ? He said yes all are great albums buy em’ all ! So I did and I cannot find a shit song on any of their albums I Fucking Love Dying Fetus now!
@@6.thedollar415 I had, a bunch of them, Unfortunately they were storage unit lost, which pisses me off, til this day. I'd love to do more of there shows, I'll have to make a call, see if it can be done.
Mario Dominguez dying fetus is one of my favorite bands but I'm not a fan of death-core. dying fetus is death-core in the sense that they combine hardcore riffs and breakdowns with brutal death metal blasting and song structure. but they are not death-core in the contemporary sense they do not sound like bands like whitechaple or carnifix but are still are a big influence on early 2000s death-core. dying fetus = death-core.
***** death metal has those riffs because of punk and metal becoming more and more one scene. and u think true hardcore never had breakdowns well you're wrong cro-mags and agonostic front have breakdowns and they're two of the biggest names in hardcore and modern hardcore is full of breakdowns. john G. himself has said that hardcore was a big influence on him. and obituary has a lot of hardcore in there sound too not as much as dying fetus though.
***** John G- I would say. The song “In The Trenches” is a complete hardcore song. If anyone knows me, they know that I like hardcore. The stuff I like is the more, I guess you would call it, old hardcore.
i'm upset, like i'm trying not to be but, when that dude asked him how'd he come up with the name, dude asked "what bands did you listen too" and he didn't say Death, like i don't know if he listened to them or if he didn't but just the soul fact that no one ever mentions death is kinda making me upset, no disrespect towards John Gallagher at all!
