Their drummer is just a good dude, humble and seems to really support all who he works with/ plays with. I got a lot of respect for people like him, being grateful goes a long way.
You're soo right, I was lucky enough to meet them a couple years back (War of Attrition era), John came across like an energetic schoolboy, big grin on his face having the time of his life just because he was talking to fans and having fun playing death metal, absolutely no snobbery or ego at all - Endless respect to them!
Out of all the bands I've ever met, these guys were probably one of the nicest and most energetic and talkative next to A7X and Slayer. Very nice, considering, and just awesome people. Can't wait to see them again!
I remember the first time i see the video for Homicidal Retribution ...i couldnt believe trey was really playing that fast ...sick Af..been hooked ever since..

I get what John Gallagher is saying here. This intvw is from 2010 and he would've been 34 at the time. "New bands" is a young man's game. A few curious older minds will be hungry to check out the latest stuff, but in your thirties you really just focus on your own stuff and listen to your classics.
@DoctorLipsh1ts the first thing that i want to make clear is that blast beating can support a great riff and make it even more awesome. my suggestions are, if you are searching for memorable riffs, to listen to the three latest albums of Nile. if you prefer melodic death metal, you should really check out the album "slaughter of the soul" by at the gates.
Weird how they're talking about Descend into Depravity but they were playing Homicidal Retribution which is on the the previous album?...maybe it was on purpose

@Rasamotmaskinen oh yeah i know man and i love nile, annihilation of the wicked is an amazing album hands down. but i don't like it when the drums overpower the guitar and vocals and it sounds like a really fast metronome the whole song haha. i think it's all about balance, take for example the shitty hardcore bands that water their songs down with breakdowns. no balance, no groove = boring and mindnumbing
can anyone give me some death metal bands that actually have slams like them and memorable riffs? i don't like it when it's just tapping and blast beats the whole song

I asked you what deathcore bands i had in my list, and you didnt tell me, so its obvious that they are all death metal and you caint find one. if i was going to tel him a deathcore band i would of said carnifex, suicide silence, oceano, whitechapel oor something like that
