WARNING: TURN YOUR SPEAKER VOLUME DOWN,RX3 COUPE 13B PERIPHERAL PORT CRUISING THE STREETS OF SYDNEY AT NIGHT...SO BLOODY LOUD BRAP BRAP BRAP,KNOWN AS (ROTARY)...Gerryrx on youtube
Totally wrong - most car enthusiasts think that rotaries sound like SHIT. The ported ones sound even worse. Who wants to drive around in something that sounds like a weed wacker / brushcutter with a burnt out muffler?
@@brembobrakes9656 - of course not, and I don't expect you to change your view. You just need to realise that not everyone shares your enthusiasm for what is essentially a "failed" engine technology. Please remember, my initial response was to Caiden Johnson who started this comment thread.... please re-read what they said. :-)
That is an amazing little Savanna mate ! That PP sounds absolutely nuts !! It's a shame you couldn't show us what she had at the second set of lights haha.
Damn, sounds like the rotary equivalent of walking down a city street with a Bengal Tiger on a chain. Impressive and scary, but it's not it's natural environment, you can tell that beast wants to be screaming at 10000rpm not pottering through Sydney. Sounds awesome though! BRAP FTW!
@oldskoolracers fair enough, I've got a 240z that recorded 119 DB at 4200rpm (almost straight through pipes) and I'm willing to bet this is louder than that. The biggest difference I guess though is that at idle or cruising speed mine is not that loud, it's when you step on it that it really makes noise. This on the other hand is just filthy noise at all times haha :).
My first car had a Ford 429, I measured 126db inside the car on the highway. My exhaust system was manifolds and two feet of pipe on each one. Piston engines have nothing on rotaries' ability to turn gasoline into noise 😂
fark. Cos of me age i'm much more of a V8 fan, cubes, big cars and all that but I fucken love that awesome racket those little brappers make! :) Nice wheels.
I'm not so sure I should have watched this. It makes me remember my RX-3 coupe, and the ones I saw years ago at SCCA PRO Rallies in the USA. Sort of a tin box on wheels with a lot of engine, but a fun car anyways.
***** "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I always thought the RX sedans were nice looking but not exceptionally sexy. The 1981-85 RX-7 is/was the best looking Mazda ever, in my opinion. It also was the most reliable rotary car they ever made, and has an astounding number of road racing and rallying victories to it's credit.
gav240z In my opinion, the best styled Mazda, at least what they brought to the United States, was the '81-85 RX-7. Absolutely beautiful; not a bad line on that whole car!
My 13b bridgey sounds almost as good as this ... almost ... similar exhaust setup too (twin primaries to the diff). Does yours backfire a few seconds after you turn the engine off?
@oldskoolracers only once for speeding and he said he thought it was a bit loud, he didn't test me though. But it's hard to tell because unlike the rotary which is loud all the time, mine only gets loud as you get higher in the rev range. It's an old school L28 motor. There is a video of it on my channel, at idle it's relatively calm :)
