I was watching on tv and came to my phone to make this comment. When I saw the plate I literally said “holy shit” out loud. That tail pipe is so amazing too.
@@rhyswilliams4893 it’s a little like those Diesel Astra Vans from back in the 90.s. Those things would blast along at 110 all day without a problem. After a while you realise that it’s not worth trying to chase them.
I have no fondness for a corsa b. But this is one of the best genuine sleeper builds I've seen. From the side, and particularly from behind the performance potential is almost unnoticeable- even to another petrolhead. The intercooler though on show is very stealthily done too - the cut numberplate is genius!
no corsa apreciator but like this changes everitink. had one from new sold last year where my moms so i kept wen mechanic said not worth fix. did the engine 3 times.portugal is harder to have new stuff.
my friend had a polo with 500hp, and it was not fast (im not sure sleepser is the right word) it just went sideways when it got gas those light wieght cars often end up, outside the road in a crash with a long skid mark.. cause they have no weight to keep the car on the road and the power in the ground (that also goes for stopping power) i have driven 200m with the car skidding backwards, the cops did the mesurement, and that was a standard 206 that saw a bit of rain in a turn.. the car ended up in the busstop where the bus had just picked up people, i was not the driver
@@tomparker962 sleeper is designation car enthusiasts give to cars that SEEM slow and ordinary, but are very fast. This transformation usually occurs by the help of engine swaps and clever workarounds. Same term is also relevant in computer slang, meaning computers that look slow and old but perform very fast, those are called sleeper pcs.
So clean. The way everything fits in that engine bay is perfect. Such attention to detail 👌 No compromise to the sleeper look either, even the interior. That pea shooter exhaust 😂🤣👍 That lad’s a genius.
This lad is no fool at all, some very clever work here, and omg that work in the engine bay is sooo tidy. You wouldnt even notice the intercooler, hes done that good of a job blending it into the bumper. I'm not not the racing or modding type but this work impressed the hell out of me.
Cracking sleeper, from the 1.0 badge to the exhaust to the 5 stud wheeltrims. I built a Metro GTi back in the day with a 1.8 VVC from an Elise. Made about 150bhp but was stripped out too. Can't imagine 300bhp in something a similar size. Awesome stuff
I’d love to do something like this to a old semi rusty Honda wagon or hatchback Idk if I’d keep it FWD or use a AWD system from a Subaru or CRX. Of course the B234R is the best Saab motor for tuning, “old but gold” as they say.
What a cracking little car! The cross breeding combinations some people come up with are class and sometimes a little left field, fair play to him 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I once put a BMW v8 (mb30) on a porches 924 transaxle in the middle of a mk4 civic, also put a scooby engine in a hillman imp using camper van transaxle, those were accomplishments I tell ya lol...
Excellent, you should be proud of that! I’ve spent all my life building competition cars up to and including for factory teams at World Rally Championship level and your attention to detail is top notch. Take a bow fella, that’s top notch.
Seen my mate in his old 911 when I had my corsa b redtop. Hunted him down and he though he was getting chased by a scooby. Should have seen his face when I pulled up next to him. He couldn't believe he got done by a corsa 😂
Absolute stunning build i really like the trick exhaust tailpipe what a great idea, a sleeper done right would never guess unless up close and paying attention.
Now that's how you do a Sleeper..! An Awesome build , attention to detail..looks like a regular car but within is hidden an absolute beast that would walk all over most cars ..That man is a legend, well done sir .. Respect..!
It's done with simplicity and knowledge, yet he kept the style all original. I love it! My sister had one and I loved driving it around :) A very cool 😎 car. I think adding the six-speed gearbox will be a perfect match for driving distance and for economy. Well done 👍
Brilliant conversion 👍🙂. You'd never know apart from the larger wheels. The Saab engine fits in so well. Surprised at just how much space there still is in the engine bay. A true sleeper.
This is incredible! By far one of the cleanest sleepers I've seen. A friend used to have a Corsa B with the 3-cylinder 1.0 in it, which we used to play around in. It was fun even without 300hp, so this thing must be awesome!
The sound at the end is just on point. I own a Saab with the opel 2.2 TiD engine and I can confirm the turbo needs to be upgraded. This definitely inspired me to make little changes on my car. Awesome work
Really impressive build, fair play to him! All the effort has paid off! My first car was a corsa b sri, always wanted to build a LET engined one for nostalgia but getting harder to find!
ngl the spinning is part of the fun though. I've ridden shotgun in a rwd car making about 400bhp at the time and it was kinda funny it would just light up the tyres on command.
That monster exhaust with the fake pea shooter hanging on the back is the best thing I've ever seen man absolutely fantastic conversion mate a true sleeper in every sense of the word👍😁
Man this car is a gem and the attention to sleeper detail is outstanding!! It doesn't help at all as the Corsa B was my first car as well, also did a X20XE conversion on it. Later sold it and such but I do miss it plenty.
Exelent build. 14 years ago, I had the Mexican 5 Dr version called " Swing" on the same blue color and it brings memories of me dreaming of turbocharging the little 1.6 or swapping a 3SGTE on it.
Didn't even know this was a thing tbh. If he drove past me I'd probably think "hoodlum!" but having watched the amount of work and love that's gone into converting the Corsa, I'm blown away, what an amazing achievement!
This video came up in my recommendations, its not my usual cup of tea and I'll admit I clicked it thinking "Why the hell would anyone bother?". By the time I got to the end of the video I'd completely changed my mind. It would have been so easy to make it look tacky and awful, but instead its clean and tasteful. The passion and skill thats gone into this is obvious and the guy is super talented. Good on him! 👍
Amazing build!!! I had a Peugeot 106 1.4 4door and I put a 1.6 8v engine from Rallye with changed cam and Supersprint manifold (840kg with 115hp, 0-100 7.6”) Total stock appearance. I loved it!!!
As someone who works on keeping Saab’s alive n well here in the US this is beyond amazing. A Saab engine swap is if not one of the rarest swaps ever. Fun thing there’s a gentleman here in Chicago that Saab red top swapped his 89 Volvo 760 Turbo.
Here in Sweden Saab engines has been swapped into everything, since they are cheap, easy to find and very easily tunable. Theres even a racing Corvette with one :)
Without doubt the best sleeper in the true sense, nice detail with the fake exhaust and standard interior / exterior. Very well put together and I'm not even a vauxhall but look forward to any updates on this car.
This is really cool. Love what he did with the exhaust and license plate haha. Engine bay looks mint, definitely seems like it was worth it to take his time for the swap.
I had a Corsa B Sport back in the day and after a few costly mods (not by me) it went like a bat out of hell, it cornered so well you'd end up with a sore neck after a while. This vid has me wanting another.
Nick seems like a lad who knows what he's doing with the spanners, I'd imagine a Corsa C steering column for the electric power steering wouldn't be too bad a job for him if he fancied it? Loving this sleeper though, even going to the trouble of trying to hide the intercooler... 😁
Love a sleeper, I had a k10 Micra running over 110Bhp about 15 years ago, the pure joy you get from leaving rich boys at the lights was just priceless. Proper nice job this!
My first car was a 1.0 corsa b, always wanted to do something like this with it but ended up with sound system in boot etc (I was 19) nice build this mate 👌
That's a tremendous wee motor, super work there. That number plate 🤩 The conversion looks very, very well done. Very close plate to my old B that I had for 11 years and only sold last year W226LBL. Only a 1 litre mind, although I've got 2 Saab Turbos now, I've kind of done things a bit weird there!
@@GoldenCroc Anyone who has any interest in cars knows what kind of car SAAB is and where it comes from. Of course, those born after 2011 may not be so aware, when the company was shut down. 😉
love this .. old corsa and not just C-let or Z-let conversion. total sleep whith the wheels and stock looks just very tidy. Only enthusiast would notice the toyo proxes on 1l corsa ? wicked job tho!!
Excellent build Im not generally a corsa or Vauxhall fan but do appreciate peoples hard work. Love the fact that he's thought about maintaining it and generally trying to improve on other builds. Ive owned converted cars and trucks and seen loads of conversions. Helped build etc. A lot of the time the only way to maintain certain things is to struggle or remove the engine, have to unbolt everything turn it in engine bay etc. seen so many where they've just wanted to get the engine in the hole and then make do. Can understand the keenness to get it done but its those details that make owning it after the build better. I currently have a mk1 Ford focus with a cossie in it. Mechanically the conversion was very good, the wiring.....thats another story.
So many of these were eaten by the scrappage scheme. It's a nice sleeper, a lot of work went in to it, and beautifully done. Really liked the standard looking faux exhaust!
Same with Mitsubishi Colt, 1990.-1994. Hadn't seen those in while, but by pure luck- I got 1992. Colt with NO RUST on underbody... Just couple rust spots, where paint was scrapped on panels. No cracks on dashboard.
THAT TURBOCHARGER WOW 👌🏼 👏🏻 😍 WELL DONE TO OWNER MAKING SUCH A MACHINE WELL DONE TO THE OWNER MAKING SUCH A BUILD AND ADAM FOR THE FOOTAGE QUALITY EVERY TIME! KEEP THE CONTENT COMING. KIND REGARDS, ADAM.
@Ryan Hamill I knew you referred to the turbo. I’m stuck for space without loosening the sleeper look. Currently looking into turbo and manifold upgrades atm, new tyres and more power
I’ve actually got several sets of running gear and have plans to go 4x4 in future. I’m just not sure if the Saab motor will mount up nicely with the transfer box
My friend had Corsa A with Vectra gsi engine or similar (can't remember exactly) which was making 150bHP and it was insane, this must be other-worldly!! Corsas are great for sleeper projects and this blokes car is one of the greater ones. And bloody nice fellow too!! Great vid!
