2.3.20 | by Adam Balhetchet | MIDTOWN, Manhattan - A suspect was arrested for having an outstanding bench warrant. It happened around 2:30 am Sunday near East 44th St & 3rd Ave in front of Ben & Jacks Steakhouse. It started in front of Duane Reade at East 39th St & 2nd Ave. That is when a Duane Reade employee ran out of the store yelling that the suspect in question stole something.
Adam: "I asked if he had called 911 and he said no. I suggested he call. I followed the suspect from a safe distance and reported his location to the police. They advised me against following the suspect because he may be armed with a knife. I directed police all the way to East 44th & 3rd Ave. That is where the suspect went into another Duane Reade to possibly steal more items. He then exited and police stopped him half a block away at Ben & Jacks Steakhouse. Two other police cars showed up for backup as well including a Lieutenant. He was found with multiple needles on him and other items in his backpack. He initially lied that he had stolen something from the Duane Reade at 44th & 3rd. Police went to the Duane Reade at 39th & 2nd. The staff said they wanted the items returned and didn't want to press charges."
"Today's your lucky day," said an NYPD Lieutenant, who informed the suspect that Duane Reade wasn't pressing charges. After looking up the suspect in their NYPD job phone, police discovered he was wanted for a bench warrant for not showing up to court. He was then immediately handcuffed and taken into custody.

But I don't understand is why duran is telling you he stole something and why are you calling the police if it has nothing to do with you or him stealing something from you. You wasted their time as much as you wasted you. time.

We did the right thing and someone is locked up thanks to us. You don't wanna do the right thing and let perps roam free to terrorize the citizens of NYC then go ahead. We will not sit by and let them get away with it.

I agree with the rest of the comments, the cops did an incredible job deescalating the situation here and even offered food to the homeless. You can tell that these particular officers have a passion for this type of work and are genuinely compassionate to the people in need while at the same time maintaining the authoritative drive, good on them. Also, at 0:31 into this video, if anyone noticed, the lady that passed by is hot.

@@LoudlabsNYC No wonder. That's why they don't bother you hahaha recording footage/talking to them/and giving them info...surprise they checked their job phone and then found out he has warrant...they usually do that if they don't find anything on the perp since this case someone said he stole something??
@LoudlabsNYC
@LoudlabsNYC 4 года назад
@@MissHitAllTheTime They not supposed to bother anyone recording. But because we're the ones who called 911 they're not going to tell us to go across the street or back away from their work. They needed to communicate with us about him.

Why the hell in new York City one of the richest cities are you not helping the people it a disgrace hope that man gets the help
@eastbaykidd8574
@eastbaykidd8574 3 года назад
People need to help themselves FIRST before they can benefit from the help of others. Being a shoplifter and substance abuser isn't helping yourself. Perhaps you are unaware that the primary factors for homelessness in the US are substance abuse and mental illness, and in many cases the latter is often brought on or exacerbated by the former. Whiny-weepy virtue-signaling feel-good liberalism has done NOTHING to help these people, because guilt-ridden white liberals allow these people to run amuck without being held to any rules, responsibility or expectation of civilized productive behavior. Adam here is doing the public a favor by showing reality on the street that's not white-washed or sugar-coated by the usual hand-wringing boo-hoo goo-goos, so give him credit where it's due.

New York helps more people than any other City. The fact is people are allowed to reject help. Not everyone wants to be in a shelter or be among other less fortunate people, many who are violently dangerous.
@lowwa212
@lowwa212 4 года назад
In all reality, if they don’t call 911 mind your business. You put the cops job in jeopardy by having them stop this man and when the people you claim got robbed were asked they said no. Mind your business next time and let the victims make the report if they want to.
@LoudlabsNYC
@LoudlabsNYC 4 года назад
They didn't say they didn't get robbed. They said they didn't want to press charges. They verbally TOLD ADAM he stole stuff. If we have an opportunity to make a difference we will do so without hesitation. Maybe you prefer these violent individuals on the streets. We don't. We live here too.
