8.10.17 | By Adam | CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn - An emotionally disturbed man shoots NYPD Police Officer in the shoulder and vest. Gunman barricades himself in 149 Ridgewood. Injured officer was transported to Jamaica hospital in stable condition. Vest saved his life. Officers gained access to 149 Ridgewood from the backyard of 45 Essex st. NYPD Emergency Services Unit on scene. A standoff takes place for hours. Finally, the gunman is found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries.

I like how in NY, the top cops wear a dress uniform. Here in Arizona, the higher ups only have insignia to indicate rank.

More cops at that scene, than in all of western Nebraska. Even the State Troopers responded. The coolest vehicle there was not the armored rescue truck. It was the jet black unmarked Crown Vic.

Generations of my family are from New York. I wish my mother didn’t move me from there to Cali when I was I child. Everyone can tell that I’m from there. It must be in my blood. I’m definitely more of a New York kind of girl.
