Repairing another bad job, once I took the shoes apart, the surprise was unexpected. I had to figure out a way to salvage the shoes. Even thou the style of the heel changed, it’s still wearable and presentable.

I don't blame you for disliking working on ladies' shoes. They truly seem over-priced and lacking in quality for the money. It it is the sign of a true professional that steps up to the plate and gets the job done. Those shoes looked better than new. Bravo Steve.

From all the videos I've seen across the internet, I have to say that it's appalling how cheaply made allot of the women's designer items are. For the price of these shoes you would expect some kind of high strength polymer heel or maybe something better but no, it's cheap plastic. But in the end of the day, it comes to down to the fact that they wouldn't do it this way if they didn't know it would sell.

I hate to say your right. I love my bags but these look really cheap. Almost like knock offs. I think it’s the design

And at that price, one might even consider going custom made, and forget the designer logo guff.

Sometimes jobs eat one up no matter the craft one is in. It is helpful to step back and understand that you have all of the skill, talent and intelligence needed to complete the job in an outstanding manner as you did. To question oneself is fine, but never doubt yourself. Your dad is looking over your shoulder with a smile on his face. His kid knocked it out of the park once again.

Great job Steve. I use faux stitches a lot on my sneaker restorations. Especially for back tab and ornamental pieces. The contact cement is super strong in its own right it's not really that big of a deal if it's fully stitched. Great way to improvise.

Steve, The easiest fix for that broken heel would have been to cast a new heel using the nonbroken one to make the mold. The heel's structural steel tube should be easy to find from either shoe repair suppliers or a material supplier like McMaster-Carr. You make a simple silicone mold from the good heel. Cast the new one in a strong plastic like epoxy. To get the steel tube in place you have 3 options, secure it inside the mold before you pour in the epoxy, add it once the epoxy has setup enough to support it, or drill through the heel and epoxy the tube in place afterwards. If you ever need to replace another uncommon heel please consider casting a new one, it isn't very difficult and it will save you from spending hours online looking for one you hope will work. Plus the know it is a perfect match to the original and its twin.
