I remember going on a school trip to see this show when Lou was Elphaba, she'd been in the show for about a month at this point and was vocally absolutely on FIRE. I was like 13/14 at the time and remember hearing a few of my friends saying "i don't know who the witch is but she can't sing" and feeling almost personally insulted as I sat there with tears streaming down my face in absolute bewilderment as to what I'd just witnessed. I'd seen the show before but NEVER in the way Louise portrayed the role. I wish she'd have stayed on longer, a year seemed to be criminal considering how strong she was in the role. In my opinion, just as strong as Rachel but in different areas. ❤
