Louisiana schools now required by law to display the Ten Commandments 

If you can't put up the Commandments, put up Rules: Rules are allowed: No Stealing, No lying, etc. Values are taught every day.

Cool. Will they also be posted in the state legislature, where they’re desperately needed?

Wether you are religious or not, they are basic human values. Dont lie, don't kill, dont cheat, Most religions have some version of it.

If the parents will not teach them how to develop a conscious, difference between right and wrong, forgiveness, accountability - then who will? At least this is a start. If I were a Louisiana lawmaker I would build more prisons - as the population of this state suggests it would fill quickly.

We essentially live by those rules, but I wouldn't call them "10 commandments" in schools. It's a good thing to post them and educate the children on them, but please don't associate with religion. Separation of religion and state is a must. Especially organized religion. Look at what organized religion does to the middle east, mutilation of women, wars, barbarism. We essentially live as christians in Europe and here in the west, but we are on our way transcending past the BS. I don't take something that is not mine for the simple reason that it's not mine, AND NOT because there's an old bearded man and his son wearing robes up in the sky watching everything and they will judge me when I die, and they will send me to be tortured underground by some horned red monsters with tridents. We must do good for the sake of good, we must do unto others as we would have them do to unto us because that's the right thing to do, AND NOT because we're afraid or obedient to a cosmic entity that doesn't exist. Skip the BS, keep the morals and ethics and recognize we humans are the ones that came up with them, because it makes sense. Drop the medieval and antiquity lore.

Regardless if you're catholic or not, the commandments are good to live by. Just be a good person to others and you can't go wrong. Simple.

Just put them up as rules, virtue and morals. It doesn’t have to be pushed as religion. These 10 are good statements to live by.

Interesting! Will teachers be allowed to discuss any of these as to how these commandments relate to students and their society? For example, could teachers comment on how some people might want to not vote for those who break the 7th C? Seems to me this could become very political!

Yeah! Its about time! Canada needs to learn from these good states! Our downfall in society has been the moral decline of our societies! How could anyone with a brain,whether they love God or not,,not see that these standards are best to keep people from being law breakers. Why would anyone protest against good morality and loving thy neighbour as thy self? I want to feel safe in my neighborhood again.❤

What do Catholics have to do with the 10 commandments?

I remember having to say the national anthem. I’m for that but not sure about Ten Commandments because to many different religions although they are good rules to live by.
