Child of the fifties here! I remember having both - the Dreamsicle and Creamsicle. The first time that I had one was from the ice cream man🎉. I looked forward to that truck with its musical jingle and being part of the crowd of kids that surrounded that truck with sheer delight.😊
I was a child in the 80’s. I remember those popsicles and loved that combo. It’s like the Thrifty’s “50/50” iced cream or the Flintstone’s push-up pops that I’d want to buy from the ice cream truck lol.😂
I remember them very well…yummy and so refreshing on a summer day. They also had dream circles made with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sherbet…just as luscious.
Blue Bunny makes something similar to it. They are so good. The ice cream truck that used to come down my street in the summertime would sell them too. Those were so yummy and so were the drumstick ice cream cones.
Have you tried it this way yet? Without doing so, you can't know if it's better or worse this way. Not everyone will like every recipe variation she puts out.
Looks so good! How much sugar or sweetener did you use for the whipped cream? The recipe doesn’t state this for those not wanting to use frozen whipped topping. Thank you!
Definitely I remember the dream orange ice cream. Pie looks fabulous Paula. I recently traveled Branson, Mo. ate in your restaurant and it was the best food ever. I couldn’t stay till June 6 th for your book signing but you were in my heart always. You’re a talented cook and love everything you make. I’m a fan supporter for life. They still make them Blue Ribbin Good Humer and Mayfield my family gets the Mayfield ones because My Nieces and Nephews liked them when they were little and my Nephews still like them because they don't have the hard shell, and the cream is threw out Mayfield ate the ones I recommend getting

I used to love those popsicles as a kid, they were amazing. I was looking at the orange sherbet in the grocery store the other day and thought about buying it, but I didn't, now I have a reason to buy some to make this pie. I like cool whip but I really do not it really does not even compare to whip cream. Cool whip has a different taste from whip cream. Thank you for sharing this recipe, I am going to have to try this, sounds like a great summer hot day dessert.
