I grew up with no seatbelts, wooden spoons, drinking from the hose, no cell phones, licking the beaters with eggs.....I am not going to worry about oil😂😂😂😂😂😂everyone is going to be just fine🥰 I guess I like to live dangerously.....

Yes, avocado oil is healthy for you. I use it for everything because it has no flavor so it doesn't interfere with any other flavors in a dish.

Some favorite fruit salads of mine Peach salad- 2 14 oz cans diced peaches drained 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple drained 8 to 12 oz (however much preferred) of praire farms 4% milkfat small curd cottage cheese 1 8 oz whipped cream 1 8 oz cream cheese 1 3 oz peach gelatin mix 1 cup powdered sugar 2 cups marshmallows Pecans or nuts optional

Avocado oil is a good healthy substitute. It has a mild, buttery flavor and is great in salad dressings and for cooking. I greatly prefer it over olive oil.

Thanks for inviting our opinion on the canola oil. From everything I have ever researched it is absolutely one of the worst oil to use. One of the unhealthiest of all the oils!!!!!

Really? Why. It's one of the better monounsaturated fats. I use olive oil when I can, but canola if I'm frying. On the very very rare occasions of deep frying, peanut.

My favorite fruit to include in fruit salads that are peaches, grapefruit, raspberries, and honeydew melon. I also use some bleu cheese dressing, dried cranberries and pecans.

Canola oil causes inflammation. Avocado oil is wonderful - healthy for us but no flavour.

Nice video! Paula's blouse is pretty. Love the shake-in-a-bottle method for dressings. And finally someone did the avocado the right way. That's just how I do it. I hate that dangerous method we see all over the internet and tv where they score it in the shell and then scoop it out! I don't usually like sweet and savory combined, so I was skeptical of the mustard and avocado in the recipe. But somehow when she added the raisins and walnuts I was sold!

Yes, it's almost spring here in the northeast. I suppose I shouldn't make your Christmas morning French Toast casserole anymore. Until Christmas comes around again! We love that. Love all the fruits you used. The dressing is good, too. I've had it before.

Can you use olive oil instead of canola oil

If you are using olive oil, I would suggest using a "light" oil, not a first pressing which is dark in color, and heavy on the taste of olive. I love extra virgin (first pressing) for savory cooking, and also as a dressing for green leafy salads. Just my opinion.😁

Are Bobby's Meyer Lemon trees in pots or in the ground? We had a good crop this last year but they were small. I love the sweeter taste of the Meyer. I would've left mine on the tree but they kept falling off.

The sound of the spoon on your teeth at the end, and the way a bit of fruit fell from your mouth back down into the bowl really triggered me 😖 but outside of that, I love you Paula and thank you for these amazing videos and sharing your company with us. She is old school but times changed with Covid 19 Now we use gloves when cooking for other people. Since she is showing us I feel we are a group. But she is the expert and getting every last drop out of the jar or adjusting the recipe I totally trust.

I haven't heard anything bad about canola oil. I think it's one of the better options after olive because it's high in monounsaturated fat. I use it when I pan fry, usually cut with butter or olive oil. Then I do corn dogs (in Europe so have to make it myself for the kiddos) in peanut oil. But that's a rare treat. I guess the keto people don't like any vegetable oil except coconut. But I think that's misguided.

@@nigella4me I've done my research. That's why I use canola oil. And you're doing something like, "Your husband's cheating on you. Do your research." You either have something to say or you don't. You don't make accusations without some kind of "evidence" to give some salience to your story.
