Stephen Dale Petit performs Robert Johnson's 'Love In Vain' for BBC Radio 2's Paul Jones show. Flagship UK blues show featuring special guest former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor on slide guitar.
Absolutely Beautiful 🤩 I love Mick Taylor. Had the great privilege to meet him in person after a gig he did in Lund Sweden 🇸🇪 in 1988. Was nervous as hell before. But he turned out to be the most gentle and kind person and my nervousness vanished quickly. One of the best moments and memories in my life 🙏❤️🙏🙌🫶🤲🦋🪽🦋🙂
Best version of this song 69 live Rolling Stones Get Yer Yas Out. Taylor shreds first with a slide solo simular to this version then he does a masterful finger solo at the end. Possibly my favorite song.
hans de vos right! and many more. Mick Bloomfield, Jorma Kaukonen, Henry Vestine, Michael Shencker, Rory Gallager, Kim Simmonds, Robin Trower, David Gilmour, Tony Iomi, etc etc. and of course the great Peter Green. Greetings.
Man you couldn't have said it no better Mick Taylor was the best But the problem was People in 1971,only heard Mick Taylor live on Ya Yas Until the 1972 usa, tour that's when Mick Taylor really cane alive I had the bootlegs of that tour and I couldn't believe Taylor's solos Now we have the Internet and smart people that listin will know Mick Taylor is one great guitar player I'm sick and tired of hearing Clapton This And That .I'd love to see Clapton And Taylor go at it Clapton was scared shit of jjimi Hendrix I think he's scared of Mick Taylor toooo
The Rolling Stones are not exactly a wholesome bunch... I'm sure playing with them took its toll on Mick... But the Love he has for playing guitar is expressed in the amazing feeling he communicates when he plays... He seems to be quite in his own world, Im sure he is on the autistic spectrum like I am...
Oh definitely resides in the top 10. Think Keith stated Mick was to wooden on stage. Well that's because he was concentrating on his guitar and playing the best in the world at the time.
His last album was not very good at all it really sucked it was called A Stones Trow 1999 If you want to hear him at his best get the cd called Too Hot For Snakes .With Carla Olson Live It's unreal
scott mclaughlin You probably can’t play a radio but have the nerve to critique the masterful MICK TAYLOR is laughable. Spoken like a true armchair legend !!!!
I don't know how I'd feel about the Stones if Taylor was never in them. With Taylor, my favorite band...they are good, but not Mick Taylor/Keith Richards good.
He's in standard. He always plays standard, always did in the stones. Keith did Open G and he was in Standard, that's what gave them such a beautiful sound.
no, Mick T played a lot of slide in open G as well. He has played love in vain in both tunings Get yaya's is in open G and 1972 ladys and gentilemen is in std tuning. You can hear him at 1:44 play his two top strings together ( E is tuned down to D) .. You can't do that in std tuning. After the stones when he played with Dylan, he always played slide on strats.. one tuned to Open E and one tuned to Open G.
Sad to see Mick Taylor noodling aimlessly, seemingly oblivious to what's going on around him. Thank god we have Sticky Fingers to remind us how good he once was.
@@sharonlee4773 I know what you meant I'm messing with you..... We only think Ronnie fits better because that's what most of us only know.... In the studio Mick Taylor fit much better than ronnie... There is no comparison.... Ronnie is a better live performer... And he looks the part for sure. But when you listen to what Mick Taylor recorded with the stones between 69 and 74... I think that pretty much ends the discussion.
