Welcome to the Dead Life, today we're taking questions for our “Love me, Love me not”, segment. And these questions are somewhat complicated to answer, but we'll give it our best shot! Today, I'm joined by my daughter Sophia DuBois, to weigh in with her intuition and insight.
If you want to leave me a message that might be shared on a future episode of The Dead Life and my Love Me, Love Me Not segment, leave it at 802.DEAD.811 802.332.3811.

The courts don’t take into consideration giving up the career. They tell you to get a job, and in my case I had already started building another career from home while taking care of the kids, so I didn’t get hardly any child support. This is even though he was the breadwinner for 10 years. He was able to advance his career while I was primary caretaker of the kids. He ended up with 50 percent custody, and his motives were to continue power/control through the kids. He bullies me through the kids, uses abusive language in messages to me, doesn’t communicate unless he decides to on important matters effecting the kids. and the courts do nothing. THAT is the “family court” system of the United States, and many people don’t know that unless you are in the family court system. The family court system needs major reform. But they like to take all your money, for court battles, and then try to say their decisions are “in the kids’ best interest.” It’s very devastating and ruin families who have already been through hell with ex abusers and still put through it.

A few months before that, he threatened to leave and not come back. He packed a suitcase and left. I should have left the house with the kids at that point, and never came back. There are so many factors, including simple economics, in leaving an abuser, not to mention the mind games that have you upside down and inside out. I should probably add this all happened after he pinned me up against the wall in the bathroom and punched holes in the wall around my head. Three months later after another terrifying incident I did call the police, and was shaking the whole time. He was arrested and convicted of domestic violence. Still, was given 50 percent custody. He also did other horrible coercive things insidiously over time. He the epitome of dangerous, pure evil person. He would do evil things, and then the next morning ask me what kind of omelette I wanted, as if nothing happened. Devastating place to be. This type of abuse destroys you mentally, physically and spiritually

One thing I noticed or realized from personal situations is that I've had a tendency to see I guess you could refer to it as seeing the not only good part of someone while kind of ignoring red flags but more specifically seeing the potential of the person because of the raw spirit or soul I'm feeling or seeing and by doing this in the way I've done I've stunted happiness by feeling they will be better or act more kind amd loving instead of acting from a hurt that maybe festered over time and they allowed to create a mean spirited part of them that by all accounts I would have been so much better off if I allowed myself to see what is and that it's there freewill stopping them from thier potential amd I infact have little if any impact on thier personal journey with that amd I for my own health and wellbeing needed to let go . Also with that it also meant I wasn't infact in love with them but instead in all reality in love with thier potential or what I was focused on instead of the entire situation and person

Does Sofia have a degree in psychology, or does she just use her intuitive ability to analyze these situations? She is very wise for someone so young.

Sophia looks like a mini you! I'm certain I'm Not the 1st to say 😂 I'd like to ask tho.... Is she your youngest? I know of you thru the show Medium primarily and have since found you thru u-tube. I'm asking because a specific episode comes to mind when I see her! At the time, my oldest was around 3 and was/is extremely sensitive! That episode helped me TREMEDOUSLY, in accepting my gifts as gifts and looking for help as his were stronger! The episode, I will Never forget, was the one that had your youngest in kindergarten. She spoke of a friend. You contacted the parents and they were Mortified as their child had passed! I javelin since that day ALWAYS wanted to contact you for advice and since then have been greatfull that the show continued 😂 Each episode helped to confirm for me things that we had experienced. Have sooooo much more to share yet the verbal puke is at its max for now 🎉 Thank you ladies for being you and Real! ❤🤟🏻✨️🙌♾️😍🫂

I disagree with this, not everything is so black-and-white and is so easy to just walk away. Also by walking away you just showing your children how you quit on a marriage. Yes you do have power, you have more strength than you know, next time he screams at you do not react do not say a word. Afterwords send him a text message. Telling him is this really what he wants, A broken family. Tell him it’s getting difficult to have any love towards him, when he screams at you like that, you just now despise him. Tell him you have nightmares at night. You constantly live in fear. As you’re getting older your nerves can’t take it any more or your blood pressure., tell him that you feel if you stay in this marriage long-term you will end up with a heart attack or a stroke. You can not to live like this any more. You do realise he works very hard and you appreciate how hard he works you understand he’s getting older and life is getting stressful and work it is getting more physically tiring and painful. Tell him you know he takes on the worry of the whole family being the provider. Tell him if he has a bad day at work or with his family to stay in the car for half an hour and download one of his favourite shows and watch that until he’s come down before it enters the house, (my husband watches Drive to survive on Netflix ) men sometimes need a circuit breaker. Tell him you’re happy to debrief about how his day went. In a calm manner. But you cannot be the person that he releases his stress on. Your youngest is 12 , she can be left on her own while the two of you can go for a walk or a drive to talk. Communication is the key to everything.

The fact your husband tells you that you financially cannot leave him. Is because he’s scared that you will leave. That is your power, in controlling this relationship.
