I like this video 🤩 very informative about the birbs, thanks. So being in the same cage, do you consider them to be 'bonded'? We have two male Fischer's Lucky and Einstein that are cage mates and we consider them bonded. Recently Einstein has been showing great interest in ('stalking' and trying to mount) our youngest Peachy. She has recently shown the female 'wing spread' mating posture but is much too young, about 6 months, so I am watching and keeping Einstein off her and putting her back in her cage if needed when he is out and about. Peachy's mom Red's first clutch was a big surprise as she was also very young and it was difficult for her.
Yes Chicken and Puffin are bonded. Puffin started doing the “big wings” thing around other birds including Chicken who is also female, at about 5-6:months. Puffin also started mounting Chicken a few months ago which is not uncommon for females to do, But it makes trying to determine gender hard. Chicken’s younger sister Gigi used to do that to her too. I agree egg laying and mating in young birds should be discouraged.
@@LovebirdLoft Just watching and observing our birds, their behaviors, and how they interact and socialize with each other is a joy and a learning experience. Are all your lovebirds peach-faced? We have 3 with 7 Fischers. The two male cagemates I mentioned have occasionally been doing the 'nasty', more like a dance. I don't know if that also is not uncommon. I have some very good videos of them 'in the act' and wonder if that would be of interest to my channel viewers, I saw your video on the mating display with Gigi and Papa.
@@lovebirdsdelight I am glad you enjoy watching our little ones as much as we do. So funny to hear two male lovebirds mate. But considering what I have seen it is not surprising. I have found lovebirds do not keep the same mate for life and can more than one at the same time. I posted lovebirds in the act to show this point. Most people liked the video, but some did not. All my lovebirds are Peach Faced. I have never owned a Fischers, they are beautiful.
