They're not sisters, but Miyako and Midori (the two guitarists) occasionally refer to each other as "my shred sister".

Miyako and Midori are one of the best metal guitar duo’s nowadays!

Midori and Miyako are twin high-speed harmonic shredders. Their guts and determination during twin shreds are based on their trust in each other. Of course, behind this is the long hours of stoic practice by all the members. With the addition of new bassist Fami, the trio Harmonic Shredder may become a reality.

Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list). LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Love this song, They are my favorite band! They have been on a break for over a year because the bass player left, Lead singer (Asami) and dark haired guitarist ( Miyako) both had babies. They just anounced the new bass player last friday and her name is Fami. You have a lot of great songs to react to while we wait for the new songs to arrive.

There is so much musical excellence ahead of you. In many different styles. They are a truly amazing band of young women. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Metal in Japan starts in the 80th, and one of the first all-female bands in Japan starts in 1981: Show-ya who is still active and yes, they follow the "heavy metal" kind of dress way. But in 2008 Aldious is born. Not of course the first all-female band, but yes a really famous one and they break the "dress code" completely. They start with some "more cute dress" and ends with an "hostess" image following the looks of popular "girls bar" in Japan were women dress nice night dresses with high heels and a lot of jewelry. Their point was "why i must dress like someone who found the clotches in a charity house when my guitar cost thousands of dollars?" Aldious paved the way in this point, and after them others bands follow (still active) Lovebites follow this idea only in the dressing appearance. Cute, femenine and white just because is more visible in a dark background. Not in music, Lovebites drinks from the original sources of Uk metal from bands like Iron Maiden with a modern twist. Anyway, some girls in Japan do heavy metal, and they don´t thing they must follow a dress code or even a music one. Some bands puts a "cute side" on their metal, just because they are girls and they want to do it. If people like, good for them. Lovebites can maybe see as an exception in metal. Cute girls doing metal, but in Japan they are not an exception. A lot of bands in Japan are all-female, and they are so good as they male counterparts. Maybe the problem aren´t Japan, but the western world where girls don´t do metal just because they think "it´s a men thing" No, it´s not. Metal is just music, and music can be performed by anyone. Male or female. And believe me... Japan have just a lot of great all-female bands. As a suggesting. 😂😂😂Your faces were a picture - bet you wish you'd checked them out sooner ! They are all superb musicians ( especially Miyako - the one with the longer dark hair ) . A couple of interesting facts - Asami the vocalist comes from an R&B background , Miyako a classically trained pianist from the age of 3 only took up guitar in High School and the powerhouse on the drums , Haruna , is only 1.47m tall ! Worth checking out ( in no particular order ) " SWAN SONG " ( with a Chopin intro ) , " WE THE UNITED " , " SET THE WORLD ON FIRE " , the live versions are best and you can get videos with English subtitles if it helps ( the lyrics are worth hearing ) . When you've finished with this rabbit hole then there's BAND MAID , NEMOPHILA , ASTERISM and WAGAKKI BAND - all Japanese - all exceptional

Such a wonderful reaction for first time listeners. Midori and Miyako are supreme guitarists with different styles that compliment each other so well. Drummer Haruna is a machine. Miho a great bassist and headbanger supreme. She has now moved on. Asami is the star of this one for me. Such power and control. She sings a helluva lot in this song without a break. Personally I love her live performances better than on the albums. Embrace this band. They are so good.
