Divya's tears were real, during her phone call with Arun mom..🥺❤️‍🩹 She understands Divya pain completely bcoz she was also in that state personally..👏🏻👏🏻 Film was so real and i had sheer awkwardness during the second half because it was so real..😂❤

Most of the love- hate relationship movies show the hero as good or saintly towards the end but here we see the characters as they are. Prabhuram Vyas has done the most challenging screenplay ordeal of humanising a despicable character. It's a melancholic drama of a falling relationship that's both realistic and bittersweet in the end. Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya have both done a phenomenal job.

I really liked the movie... Like at some point Arun's( Manikandan) possessiveness makes us look out at our daily relationship with anyone, The director really makes the audience to push to some point and makes us ( audience) to feel the characters ( Arun and Divya) at every stage.. Where even Divya discovers herself at everytime she had a fight with Arun... That's what the climax defines it very well. Thanks BADDY.. Sometimes I feel like watching your reviews after watching the movie, it gives me the exact idea of a character or the story the director is trying to define... Thankss for the good reviews...😊

The film stood unbiased and portrayed the characters without taking a side. However, I feel that the reviewers (all three reviewers that i listened to) have painted a picture that makes the male lead look cheap. the moment he realised that she is not hurt by his actions alone, and that she actually is a very different person, he moves on politely. In his defense, everytime he blocked her or tried to move on, she kept going back to him in the name of affection, confusing him about where she actually stands. Even toward the end, when he says bye, she hugs him and cries, but thank god he stands firm and leaves anyway. And in the end he doesnt even hold a grudge against her and took the whole experience the right way. I think the progressive elite circles are doing the same thing that the conservative lot are doing. Just spitting on each other trying to make the other side look bad. We are all different and we should respect that, and when there are conflicts we should COMMUNICATE, which the female lead never really does in the film. Sure, we all have flaws and so did the characters from the film. And they were incomptaible and got seperated. Simple as that! There is no need to make him look like a cheapo who didnt "deserve" her.

The movie could have explored much more conflicts about the relationship instead of just repeating the same conflict. Though it was enjoyable it became redundant. I don't agree with the part that music did justice, there were back to back songs which doesn't add much value to the story. BGMs were way too over orchestrated which was not required at all. We see a heavy metal BGM when Arun drives to Divya's house which is very confusing. Should we cheer to it? A great storyline which had a potential to become a cult film but ended up as a good watch.

Hello Mam. I absolutely agree with your perspective but wanted to ask a question which popped up in my mind when I watched this review. The film has showcased how the class differentiation between Arun and Divya's life also played a huge part in their relationship's downfall. Do, Women really look into their partner's class and lifestyle before jumping into a relationship as shown in this movie. Because, I felt its like judging and generalizing a person's character based on the societial circle they live in......
@asiddi821
@asiddi821 5 месяцев назад
@@kv1347 I feel that it really plays a role in both Men and Women life. Because the class difference actually linked to the mindset. Its the universal truth that girl tries to change after marriage according to their husband's lifestyle but husband doesn't get affected much. They'll only get affected if the wife and husband both decide before marriage. Men and Women dont look for class of each other before specifically entering a relationship but they definitely look out for matching mindset. Bcz not only Divya and Arun broke up but also Divya's vlogger friend, Madan also broke up with her ex-partner.

@kv1347
@kv1347 5 месяцев назад
@@asiddi821 In the film, while showcasing the toxicity between the characters, I noticed a missing element. Despite being in a relationship for six years since college, the protagonist initially admired Arun's aggressive nature and didn't mind his background. However, as she progressed in her career, she sought someone matching her elevated standards. This shift seemed abrupt. Typically, successful women don't leave partners solely due to income and societial disparities. But I completely agreed with Divya because of the toxic traits of Arun and appeared to be Arun's narcissistic traits, where he believed the world revolved around him. This aspect largely shaped my perspective on the film.

I felt the movie as two immature souls who doesn't know to communicate when there is an issue, all they do is lie to each other, cry,fight,sorry and patch up. There is no real conversation between them. Both of them are at faults. The transition of being Arun as successful cafe owner doesn't click to my mind because pursuit towards success fucks you may more than your pursuit towards love.

That's what i felt too...highly immature hero, seriously all he did was being toxic and harass the heroine into marrying him. Including his mother, who is like a 50's woman who thinks a marriage will save her stupid son. Plus, they never showed the girl's family at all. As if they had no say in this relationship at all. Modern love against traditional sacrificing love... shows the modern Gen Z lovers and their complications, brutal truth and the strength of relationship ... I some how personally feel such LOVE as depicted as modern love is more selfish from either gender and some kind of security ... I feel these modern day love has nothing in it.... but this is reality and at young age instead of focusing on future and career such toxic love will spoil the youth and better stay away from it which is the message I get from this movie and which proves in the end when hero gets better after he moves on unlike SETHU love

Theres a slightly unnoticed butvso significant part showed in the movies that show the change in the dynamic of their relation in such a subtle way. Arun has a habit of rubbing his eyes which divya would push away his hands when she saw, but during their trip post the breakup he does the same and divya just looks at him from a distance which is enough for him to put his hands away. He understands that shes moving on again. It showed so beautifully how breaking up with someone doesnt necessarily mean that the care and concern which one had would just completely fade away.

And am not sure, even such a gender reversed movie might even be celebrated by young audience. But Lover with genders reversed would be named "toxic, false, harsh" and not as reality. But my worry is, society is very ingrained in its norms and may fail to identify real victims whether it's man or woman and push each other to extremes which we are already seeing as 30% men are remaining single and lonely, indian men have highest percentage of suicides and these movies are not helping the victims.

u forget the context and the background of our society when u say "reverse the genders". If the genders were reversed, Divya would have been the lower middle class girl who drinks, smokes, and treats the opposite gender as though he needs permission from her for everything he does. Arun would have been... well... just like Madan. So the question here becomes, did u ever find such a female character in the lower middle class in the actual society who can have an impact (a fearful one at that) on the opposite gender? Women, no matter the class have to still face the same consequences that Divya faced; the lower the class, the worser the conditions for the vulnerable. The social media and "the woke" is biased may be because they understand this better and do not talk in hypotheticals that do not exist, or even if they did, there'll be no further deterioration for the already privileged gender. context matters, my friend. There's nothing "American" about being progressive, just an education. I could also use words like "right", "conservative", "regressive" and "agenda" to push back against u, but that would just be namecalling and a weak piece of argument from my side.

@@abirami8891 Arun in the movie was toxic. Naan ila nu sollala nga. But he grew up in a broken household which is not his mistake. Then again, he could have changed his friend's circle, worked hard, got better in life which is his part which he failed to do. And yet, he comes to that broken home everyday which takes a toll on him. Now, idhe situation la oru ponnu irundha, our first response, second, third and nth response would be "show empathy, show empathy" Adhu yen Arun ku ilama, avana reject panna vendiya oru aal nu pesuranga, paakuranga apdindrathu dha en thought. A woman should stay, fix a man apdinu la naan sollamaaten. Arun himself needed a break, a guidance, introspection to get better which he eventually did. Arun is someone with whom no girl should be with nu portray panradhu ellam worst behavior. We all make mistakes, terrible mistakes and we change at sometime. And people can be accepted again.
