Ad hominem attacks don't invalidate the truth of what he is teaching. It was true before he was born and will be true long after he, you, and all the rest of us are no longer on this earth. It is true because it is God's word, pure and undefiled by the traditions of men, which sadly cannot be said of Roman Catholicism.
Where does the Bible charge that Sola Scriptura is the one and only infallible teaching? I would charge that there is more proof of the Bible teaching that there is more than one infallible teaching source that we should follow. White has never and will never be able to demonstrate that Sola Scriptura can stand up to it's own argument. It is simply not in the Bible. @@koraegis
I just converted last year! Ive never felt closer to christ and more welcomed. It truly feels like a family! I listened to james white, john macarthur, doug wilson, and RC for 10 years. Believed everything they said about rome. Finding NONE of that was true was one of the top factors in my conversion. Does James White not understand the difference between official Church teaching and pious theories and ideas? Just because a lot of people thought purgatory lasted a long time doesn't mean it was official teaching. Purgatory might go on a long time or it might not. We simply don't know. The Church hasn't officially taught one way or the other.

As a Catholic I am so sick of Protestants misrepresenting my faith and then critique their own falsehoods, 500 years is enough. The vast majority of Christians believe in Baptism (not just faith), a vast majority venerate the saints, a vast majority believe we can sin yet are still saved if we repent as the Lords prayer says, a vast majority also believe in their church traditions. Stop bashing on the majority of Christians use the energy to save poor lost souls.
So, by your argument, if we meet others who are confused about scripture we shouldn't try to correct it because others could have the same problem. Basically what you said is "Stop bashing Catholics because some of you are srong too.".
@@ChristisLord2023 That is not my argument, a huge majority of Christians have very similar beliefs as i said. Catholics, Orthodox, and many Protestants also. This preachers views are a minority and there seems to be a hatred towards other churches that disagree, which again are the vast majority of Christians. He even said there is a huge variety of views within the Catholic church or any other, instead of making the schism worse we should try to reconcile. The title is loving our Catholic neighbors, it should be bashing on the vast majority of Christians who hold similar different beliefs.
With over 35,000 Protestant denominations you certainly have soooo many options . Just pick the one that best suits your lifestyle and beliefs, and you have your custom made church . And if you aren’t pleased with it after some time , you are free to go to any other denominations. The sky is the limit.
My converted from Methodist Baptist neighbor said he chose that one because it was the shortest drive and convenient, I asked him how he enjoyed the name and doctrinal changes that they did shortly after and he did not seem to care much. I am not sure how one can operate that way but many do. As a Catholic I feel closest to traditional Lutheran or Anglican churches, but they can vary wildly or change rapidly so its just a crap shoot.

1 Timothy 2:5 is a bad verse to quote to go against praying to saints, etc. First off, you are taking half a sentence and creating a doctrine. That is not good hermeneutics. If you read the full sentence it says, “there is one mediator between God and man, that is Jesus Christ our lord, who gave himself for the ransom of all.” Now there are a couple ways you can interpret this. For the sake of longevity, I’ll provide two. One is straight forward, only Jesus can be our mediator and nobody else. But this is then dependent on semantics on how you define mediator. Does that mean, any prayer whatsoever? But this interpretation falls short because then scripture asks us to pray for one another. Thus meaning we are mediating between Jesus and the person we pray for. Second interpretation that is the most logical, is taking the full sentence instead of just 2:5, you include “who gave himself for the ransom of all” this we can interpret that there is ONLY ONE mediator who gave himself for the ransom of all. NOT that there is ONLy one mediator between god and man in general. Just that Jesus is the only mediator who gave himself for the ransom of all. Hope this helps clear that passage up.

The Catholic church has a much deeper and thorough understanding of scripture. Protestant churches have a much more superficial and not as correlative of understanding or interpretation that can wildly vary from church to church. With that said it does not always translate to parishioners, a Protestant might often know scripture chapter and verse, but might have a very superficial knowledge of how it correlates to the Old/New Testament or sacraments.

I have seen RCC apologists use 6 different arguments against his and still haven't seen any of them able to show any proof or accurately handle the text of scripture. I am Catholic. I recently attended a non-denominational Christian church with two good friends. I ask in sincerity, when Jesus said, "This is my body, this is my blood, do this in memory of me." why do Protestants not conclude that He meant it? Or do they? Thanks.

He references hebrews 10 , now if the good doctor would continue to the end of chapter 10 he would self defeat his purpose and statement. No my brother. Once saved NOT always saved. Yall listen to his hebrews reference then analyze his point.... then read on through the end of chapter 10 into verse 26-31 , Paul makes it extremely clear the good doctor is either mistaken or being intellectually dishonest, because a professor of theology and church history WOULD HAVE TO KNOW THIS. Lol thats the first ive heard…. Even most Protestants say james white lost both those debates. Jimmy got him to admit sola scriptura wasnt expected, commanded, or even existed for the early church. Jimmy listed apostolic traditions that james white accepts, personally i think if you feel like james white won, then either you have no brain, youre just a cheerleader, or you didnt watch the debate. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt though, tell me… which of jimmys arguments did you find the most compelling? Was it that SS wasnt possible? Was it that the phrase word of god was proven to refer to oral preaching vastly more than its referred to as scripture? JW complained that Jimmy didnt debate like guys from 30 years ago, complained that he had slides prepared for all of Jame’s highly predictable defense, complained that he wouldnt go off topic, and had a competely bitter spirit throughout. Catholicism is exploding in popularity and guys like James White are one of the main reasons! If he really wanted to stop people from becoming catholic, he should just not speak about it. @@marteld2108 Nope… jimmy akin defeated him 2 in a row. 1st on sola scriptura being a made up, non biblical doctrine. Second on how a christian is justified. I assume you think im getting the trent horn debate mixed up but its not. Jimmy simply continued to lay a foundation on that can of worms that trent opened. James White said sola scriptura was NOT possible until all of scripture was given to the church and even then it took ages for the full bible to be available. The number he gave in the trent horn debate was at least 500ad. So let me add to that….. the coptic orthodox broke away from the church in the 400’s. They dont use or ever used sola scriptura. The eastern orthodox broke away 600 years later…. Still no knowledge or use of sola scriptura. Jump ahead to the council of florence in the 1400s. The orthodox accepted papal authority at that council but when they returned home, they found themselves beaten excommunicated and murdered. Still not one mention of sola scriptura… not until the reformation does that doctrine even appear in history! So if sola scriptura isnt taught in scripture, wasnt taught by the early church, wasnt taught by any of the orthodox, and only appears when Martin Luther got crushed in a debate with Johann Eck. Anyone with a modicum of common sense can see sola scriptura is a man made tradition invented by martin luther because he couldnt handle being rebuked in a debate. Anyone with google can look this stuff up. Its basic church history.
In those recent debates with Jimmy Akin, it appeared to me that Akin was trying to get converts, not to really debate the issues. He was selling himself and his religion, in my view. He had pre- planned displays for the rebuttals. His rebuttals weren't rebuttals at all but a continuation of his catholic presentation. How can anyone have pre- planned slide optics for rebuttals before even hearing what was said? It made no sense. He was selling himself and presenting a view of catholicism that omitted the dogmas and ritual sacraments Dr. White had brought up; and then claimed that Dr. White promised not to address those things- which was a lie, I found out. edit* ps. 33:25 Dr. White talks about some of this, I just now discovered.
Dr. white has a doctorate from a non-accredited diploma mill. I'm not sure why he spends so much time bashing other denominations. I guess he considers it his job. I think he would be better of teaching his beliefs with regard to faith.
