Hey, so in this video, I'm going over my budget-friendly and portable astrophotography setup and how I get power when going remote imaging. Any suggestions are very welcome.

cool setup! I have a star adventurer v1 that I use with dslr and lenses up to 135mm on the ballhead plate, and also with space cat scope on the bracket w/counterweight. I also have a celestron omni cg-4 with added right ascension drive that I use with dslr and my orion ed80t carbon fiber, and finally I have an orion 8" f/3.9 newtonian astrograph on an orion atlas eqg mount. many nights I set up all 3, but usually just run 2 at a time

Heya, nice setup! I am using a neq6 pro with a sharpstar 80mm and 60mm orion guide scope, main camera is a Canon EOS 600D astromod, guide cam is Altair GP2cam. Im always hooked up to the house power supply. I use a dedicated laptop for imaging, and i have a pc indoors, wich i connect to with wifi. dont need to sit outdoors in the cold :p i like your tips on the power supply for laptop when you dont have a house supply, i just might need that myself :p also, i have everthing hooked up on a 7 port usb hub, so there is only 1 cable going to the laptop. works like a charm and cable management is always nice looking :) greets

Inspiring video :) I decided to get the Az GTi and use it with my Eos 550d which I modified. I just have to find a nice telescope for it. William optics red cat seems decent or maybe a guidestar 61...

Thank you, I'm glad to hear that, and yes you can't go wrong with either of those telescopes, both are great quality so I'm pretty sure you will have fun no matter which one you chose.

I'm also using the Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi in EQ mode. Currently with a Canon 600D and a 300mm f/4 USM lens, but I have my eye on a few small Quadruplet refractors. I'm interested in the balance system you use for the mount. I'm currently using the Sky Adventurer Pro counterweight kit with a m8-m12 adapter, but I feel like once I upgrade to a scope with guiding I will need a lot more weight and bar length to balance. Any tips? Thanks, and great videos like always.

Hi Tadej. thanks for your videos, I really like them! I recently purchased an az-gti and I want to use it with my asi224. Can you tell me which sharpcap options you use? Output format (png, tiff or fits) and color space (raw8, raw24 or rgb)? I have a ts80ed f7 telescope, but I also use old FD canon lenses on asi224 camera (I built an adapter in which I can plug a 31.8mm filter) and it works fine. Thanks in advance

@TadejSkofic 4 года назад
Hey Stefano, to be honest, I don't use SharpCap for imaging so I don't know much but you should definitely image in fits and I think there is a raw16 option, so that should give you good results but make sure to input the correct settings in the Deep sky stacker, I will make a video on stacking shortly so I might include it.

@@TadejSkofic Thanks a lot. Yes, I often use DeepSkyStacker and it will be nice to see your settings in it. thanks for your suggestions regarding Sharpcap, I see that you use just dslr modified camera but your opinion is appreciated! Regards!

Hi mate, You videos and setup inspired me to maybe get started with astrophotography :)) thnx for that!.. I'm looking into the skywatcher gti, but I can't find how I make it an eq mount... could you explain or do a video on this subject? :)) You say the wedge works farely well... can I just buy the wedge for the gate and install it easy? And where do you get the counterweigh.. :)

Hey, that's nice to hear, thanks! For seating it up in Eq Mode I already made a video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rnGALhpFL2g.html&t= For the wedge, it has to be a polar wedge so that is that (Those are not affiliate links): www.amazon.com/SkyWatcher-S20530-Adventurer-Telescope-Accessory/dp/B00Y1ZDK5W/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=skywatcher+polar+wedge+star+adventurer&qid=1582178628&s=electronics&sr=1-2 The counterweights I made myself out of some old waist and 3D printed a holder but you can buy a kit: www.amazon.com/SkyWatcher-S20540-Adventurer-Telescope-Accessory/dp/B00XX646MG But if you have any other question let me know.

@@TadejSkoficTheFBNL A word of warning on buying the Adventurer Counter Weight kit - I understand the thread size (M8) is different to the AZ-GTi (M12) so some sort of adapter is also required, see www.cloudynights.com/topic/631581-sky-watcher-az-gti-mount-counterweight/

Why did you choose ASIAIR and not ASIAIR PRO I want to buy one of them and have been thinking about ASIAIR PRO I have SkyWatcher AZ GTi and Skywatcher equatorial polar wedge. ZWO ASI120mini Mono as guide camera Sony A7R 36mp with 4.86 µm Sony A6000 24mp with 3.88 µm I like to connect my Sony to the SkyWatcher AZ GTi in SNAP connectors So I hope I can with ASIAIR or ASIAIR PRO as well

@@TadejSkofic Correct. I found a website yesterday that had a thread about it. Someone else had NO threads, also. A SW rep said thay was NOT intended, an a flawed unit.. I have returned mine to Amazon as defective. Search on the product and counter weight issue. Something like that. TY for an xss answering.
