Every time I see you do a video, half of me says "please let it be one of my recipes" and the other half says "I hope he doesn't do one of my recipes". You rock, Wes. 👍
Idk who keeps giving Wesley grief about his sheet pans being dirty because sheet pans that get used for cooking are never pristine mint condition looking ever again. They get seasoning just like cast iron, and it leaves blemishes on their surface, it's not dirty.
Yes back in my day they said you didn't scrub that off because that added to the flavor. Kind of like my mother's old percolator. She told me to never scrub her percolator because those stains inside added to the richness of the coffee flavor everyday.😂
UPDATE: I made this again with sugar free syrup from Walmart and not a specialty syrup. It passed the test!! I made the second recipe this morning....WOW!!! IT is absolutely the best!!!!
Wes, I'm a big fan of you and your videos. I'd like to make a request and hope you consider it. When you display the finished recipe, could you show us what one serving looks like? I think in a cake battle you did, one recipe called for like 1/8 of the cake and the other was 1/12 or 1/16. It would really help me (and others) visualize what we actually get to eat for that amount of calories and carbs.
You make me so happy with your channel, your manners, your voice and your presentation. Only downside, is ... I live in Sweden and we do not have all the lovely products you get to buy in US. You are a true inspo, thank you so much. Take care. xoxo from Sweden
I know there's certain people that I follow on RU-vid and certain TV shows cooking shows in general that I watch and I can hear their voices in my head when I'm processing either with crafts or with cooking LOL
I have never eaten granola in my life! I grew up not eating cereal. My mother was a real carb restricter - unusual at the time since I’m 65 so we’re talking the 60s & 70s. Anyway, this looks good and like something I really need to try. Thanks for this! I’ve seen granola recipes before and have always just whizzed on past. But I always watch your videos all the way through for the algorithm to help you out and today I’m really glad I did.
@@lilarose5512 In so many ways - we never ate margarine because it was “nothing more than a chemical mess with yellow dyes” and she used olive oil to cook. Nobody else’s mom used olive oil! And we weren’t Italian and nobody we knew was Italian! She just had a 6th sense about things.
Even though it’s dangerous for me to have granola around- even the low-carb, I want to make the four ingredient recipe. I like the simplicity and the look on your face said it all! Thanks for these videos💕💕
All day I dream about food also has a maple pecan granola that is fabulous. It has more of a real granola texture. I don’t like maple so I substitute vanilla. Her recipes also typically only have half as much sweetness as I prefer so I typically add 50-100 % more sweetener because other than the sweetness factor-her recipes come as close to real food as any I have tried.
@@ketokarbs3671 it’s just a joke. He used to intro as a weekly web series, then it would be sporadic posting and became the random web series , I think there was another iteration in there too like “the almost weekly web series”.. lol now he’s back to “the weekly web series” 😉 but that’s ok, we love Wes!
I swear we must be on the same wavelength...This is not the 1st time you have come out with a video & I had just made I just made what you are making the day before... I made KETO Granola yesterday, I kinda mash together what I view as the best ideas from several recipes & tweak it a bit...
My “go to” these days is Caroline’s “keto granola clusters” recipe... has ingredients similar to the big mans world .. but I gotta try his now too!! Thanks, Wes- you are just too fun to watch!!!
I made the Big Man's World Keto Granola last night, and it was amazing. Very easy to make, and the only major difference I did was I used ChocZero maple syrup instead of the homemade stuff. It was more light and crunchy than any other keto granola I've ever made. This is my new favorite. It was so super simple to make, and as soon as my Amazon order shows up with more slivered almonds, I'm going to make up a double batch of this stuff. The only real downside is that I find it hard to stay away from it the rest of the day. I need a canister with a timer timer lock top on it.
Thanks again Wes for an excellent video. I really appreciate you doing the hard work of recipe testing for us. I'll be making granola soon. PS - I once put an aluminum pie plate in the dishwasher and it came out like that. I scrubbed it with an SOS pad and all the staining came right off. Lesson learned.
I love your face while you taste the food! I also expected the first recipe to be better because of more ingredients and the peanut butter (which I love). I will have to do both of them!
I love your channel! I watched this video twice and just made a combination of the two granolas - I liked the idea of peanut butter, but I mostly followed the 2nd recipe by The Big Man's World, except in place of most (probably 2/3) of the almond flour I substituted zero sugar peanut flour. It turned out awesome! Thank you again for all of your great videos!
AllDayIDreamAboutFood has a different recipe I’ve made for years that is my favorite. It’s her PALEO COCONUT CACAO NIB GRANOLA (it’s low carb) and just the best. All kind of variety, sweetness and crunch.
This is my favorite way to evenly spread granola in a pan: Dump granola and spread evenly. Don't worry about pressing it down. Cover granola with another sheet of parchement paper. Place another baking sheet over the top piece of parchment paper (you just made a baking sheet/ parchment paper / granola sandwich) Press down on the top baking sheet evenly. Lift off, remove top parchment paper. Granola should be evenly spread and pressed in.
Went looking for a recipe with no erythritol (heart and stroke problems run in my family along with diabetes) With the big news about erythritol, suddenly I had no granola to eat. (I eat keto to control blood glucose) Loved your video and made the Big Man's World version. Super good! I doubled the recipe and substituted mixed seeds for 1/2 cup of the nuts-so, so good to have granola again on my yogurt. I love your videos and your "southern flair-my Daddy and Momma were both southern and it's like being in their kitchen again.
I've made Carolyn's recipe and thought it was fantastic. Haven't tried the other. Will have to check out that one too. So many great recipes out there.
I have made my own syrup (or add ingredients seperate to recipes that call for syrup) from my own sweetener with Mapleine, which is maple flavoring. I grew up with my gram making syrup from water and brown sugar and a little Mapleine for on Sunday buckwheat dinners.
I did not hear any heavy breathing or any thing else negative or inappropriate in Your vid :-) Just like always witty, adorable & gentlemanly!! YOU ROCK WESLEY!! PS - I still see hummus recipe & I see You have commented already about fixing it :-(
I didn’t notice any breathing, either. Some people are just difficult. I follow a woman who buys stuff at auctions, antique stores and thrift shops and people complain about her breathing while shopping and the crinkling noise of paper when she unwraps treasures to show. They also comment on the state of her manicure, etc. On another channel, the woman who owns the channel is attacked for her prematurely gray hair, her lack of make up, her laugh, etc. People are just downright rude!
The only way to have that syrupy consistency and remain clear of actual sugars and other corn ingredients or whatever is traditional is to use a vegetable fiber called IMO for short or isomaltooligosaccharide. There is a popular brand that just provides this ingredient alone as a sweetener called Vitafiber. This ingredient DOES tend to be an insulin spike. It’s like how maltitol is supposed to be a sugar sub, but really is horrible on digestion and also spikes the blood sugar considerably. I have always stayed clear of this because of these reasons. If I want to stay in ketosis especially for weight loss I can’t use anything with IMO in it.
Hi Wesley! I made The Big Man's World version of granola today and it turned out GREAT! 😊👍. It also filled my house with its yummy aroma... So thankful that you do these videos for us so we can have tried and true recipes to make at home. So appreciate you! 😊
I love your comparison videos. My favorite granola recipe that I make all the time is Keto Granola Recipe, by youtuber rachelmwalters. Whatever recipe you use, I would add LOTS of cinnamon!
Thank you for the comparison and the detailed nutritional information. I have been trying different recipes for granola. So many use coconut flakes - I don't like coconut - so I just leave it out. I'm gonna try the Big man's recipe -thank you.
Wes, I’d let you help me with every life decision. 🤣 You are such a joy, and I’ve used your truthful comparisons over and over again to decide which recipes to try first. Thank you!!
Wes, your descriptions of the textures, tastes & smells of the ingredients along with your suggestions- is one of your secret ingredients! I love watching your honest to gosh reactions. Please keep making videos & thank you so much!
Plz never apologize 4 loud crunchy chewing! Anybody who does KETO, like myself, is usually missing crunchy foods. 😂Enjoy your vids, why? You include calories & nutrition info. So valued! Also, in depth description of food you make and recipes I eventually make. Gratitude!
@@HighfalutinLowCarb Next time I make it I'm thinking I might add some of the brown sugar Swerve to the dry ingrediants, just because I can, haha no carb or calorie changes.
Thank you, it was obvious which you liked best without the words.....I will be trying this, maybe both! I love peanut butter!! How is your foot doing? Hope you are better, foot pain is the worst!!
Hi Wes! My mom and I love your videos. We also love that little turquoise dish you used for the butter. So pretty. Wondering who makes that dish or where you purchased it? I love small dishes for prep or dinner placements. ❤💖❤
Wow, I really want this now! Looks great- both- but I can’t even cook nuts at my house, hubby allergic to nuts and even the smell hits his ability to breathe...hmm, guess I’ll make this somewhere else and sneak it!! Haha, thanks!!
I need to try these. I love granola, but it's so expensive to buy low carb granola! I have a few favorites, but I can only splurge on them once in a while. So far, I haven't found a low carb granola recipe I like. The one by The Big Man’s World might change my mind. I hadn't seen that one yet. It looks exactly like I like my granola, and the crunch when you bit into it was nice and loud! I love that in a granola. :)
They both look like they are yummy. As for that pan, I wonder if Bar Keepers Friend would clean off any of that oxidation. I use it on all my stainless steel pans.
@@HighfalutinLowCarbheck don't spend energy scrubbing, just spray w oven cleaner, throw some plastic wrap on or stick in a grocery bag and in a few hrs it melts off. So satisfying. You could also just stick it in the oven when doing a self clean cycle. OH WAIT, I just realized it's oxidation, haven't tried these on that yet, bar keeper or bon ami is prob best!
First thing I look for on RU-vid is one of your new videos! There are a lot of Keto recipes, but no one has your personality. I would like to make a suggestion for a sweet treat- melt a bag of Lily’s white chips in microwave until melted stir once and or twice, then add one bag Lily’s Caramel balls, stir until chocolate from balls is melted into white chocolate. Drop spoon fulls into silicone molds, let solidify. Tastes like real caramel chocolate fudge!
