Another great video from Doc Harley. I bought the plastic LANG Tools #492 model and use it to both remove and install the retainer ring. Works well and HALF THE PRICE of the Snap-On model.
Doc got a 2000 road king I believe I have a pin hole in fuel line. My question is I have fuel supply and fuel return. The return does it just float in tank or is it attach to something?
That's great But it can be done with a stout brass punch and a keen awareness of what you are doing with precision without harm or mishap. Been a tech for a long time. Its just how you approach the task. But I am also a firm believer of having the right tool for the right job. Just apply patience and attention to detail. But I concur, Doc's way is 100% the way to do it.
I will admit Docs way is the best but I’ve done this with a punch and hammer. I have a 2008 Street Glide with -117k. Fuel filter every 25 k and a new fuel pressure regulator once. I’ve never hurt anything. Just careful. Not a hammer mechanic. Benn doing precision work in a machine shop for many years.
Great video Doc. I did what you suggested and changed the fluid in my 2012 Dyna Superglide forks and had them rebuilt also (20,050 miles) as well as the, motor and trans oil. All set at Myrtle beach Harley Davidson. You should remind folks about the front forks again. God bless.
Tire pressure question Doc. I installed tire pressure sensors on my street glide. After the tires warm up on the road, the front increases 3 psi and the rear tire increases pressure by 5 psi. Should I fill them to manual specs cold or fill them low knowing they will increase by those amounts?
I got a question that I hope can be answered here. I have an 07 Road King classic and I want to know if I can remove the licence plate bar because my plate is now down low on the side, and I want to clean up the fender. Was told I shouldn't do that but, I've seen many others w/o? Thanks for all the tips Doc.
Doc harley HELP! took my 07 electra glide to a harley dealer for a stage 1 upgrade. Got slip on exhaust and a bigger intake filter. Now its got deceleration popping, won't reach 100 mph, and dies when I come to a stop. I've had it back three times and they just say its within the parameters. Help. They took a very dependable bike and made it questionable at a hefty price.
Since my ride is a 2001 Sportster 883 and none of your videos deal with my problems, I watch for the master mechanic instructions you provide for knowledge sake. You are the best.
Hey Doc! A little off subject but my 2018 forty eight special has developed a mystery oil leak on the primary side. The first time I noticed a nickel size spot under the shifter. More recently there will either be an oil film underneath the primary case near the shifter, or oil on the the lowest part of the shifter cable. I never find oil while the bike is hot, only after it sits. Sometimes it needs to sit a couple days before it shows. I heard there is a primary weep hole or the cable seal might be leaking. Thanks for any help. Doug
