Great recipe...made it the traditional ways and this way...not much, if any difference. It's beautiful how such simple ingredients can culminate into such a wonderful medley of flavors. Bravo!
Good tortilla, I love olive oil a lot but if you look closely the drizzle was about 3 table spoon, and 2 more in the frying pan, then he took out one too spoon that is 4 table spoon, that alone is 480 cal., meaning 500 cal lol, I know it is hard to make tortilla with less olive oil... I dont have nor like mircowave with plasitc film .. so I would use oven, and put 1.5 to 2 table spoon at most in the mix .. and in the frying pan 1 table spoon... that is 2.5 to 3 .. we can not do it with less than that.. and it give 2 meals.. It may take longer time in the oven. any suggesstion guys!! boiling would be worse than not making tortilla at all.
Thank you sooo much! I have watched several YT recipes for this dish, and the amount of oil always bothered me. Now I know I can do the dish with minimal oil, I will try it.
@@kristinrae1 pretty well. I think it gave it a better flavor, but it did lose all the crispness once it was cooked with the eggs. I didn't overall love the dish though, so I only made it one time.
uploader made a good one, I love olive oil a lot but it concern me the huge amount of oil transitionally used. but if you look closely the drizzle was about 3 table spoon, and 2 more in the frying pan, then he took out one spoon that is 4 table spoon, that alone is 480 cal., meaning 500 cal lol, I know it is hard to make tortilla with less olive oil and this can make 2 meals ... I don't have nor like microwave with plastic film .. so I would use oven, and put 1.5 to 2 table spoon at most in the mix .. after it is done in the oven I would transfer the cooked potatoes and onion in the frying pan and add 1 table spoon... that is 2.5 to 3 total .. we can not make it with less than that.. and it give 2 meals that is acceptable.. It may take longer time in the oven though :(, any suggestion guys!! boiling is not an option it tastes bad, I tried it once. and I guess even boiling half way still would be bad option but never tried it.
I eat this dish the first time by my friend 5 days ago and I really love it so much that I have to do it and I fallow your version because it's a bit healthier. Respect it looks so good in your video. Hope can make it the same. :)
Ok friend, a good idea is to do with microwaves, he went well. Greetings from andalucia. Ok amigo, es buena idea esta de hacerlo con microondas, le salio bien. Un saludo desde andalucia.
El cocinero Justo Francisco Javier Yes, it is a very nice alternative when you don't want to mess a lot in the kitchen, and want something lighter. It is done very fast, and still very similar to the original. The only thing you miss is the brown color on the onions.
Spanish Cooking asi es, perfecto y ademas, no lleva mucho aceite. so it is perfect and besides, does not take much oil. oleeee recipe as they say in Spain. lol,
Is it possible to start with the microwave and finish up the potato & onion mixture in a pan to get some caramelization/brown color before adding them to the eggs?
good point but it depends - some cling film may be suitable - you have to check the product packaging if it's suitable. Just don't let it touch the food while it's heating
