I've been using K18 for a year. It's UNREAL! Your clients will think you're incredible! The more u use it, it just keeps on healing the hair, w every use. I started offering it as an add on but, now I just include it and Olaplex (base colors only ) on ALL chemical services. I have a stand alone as well as use it w my hair detox service. Hopefully you're still using it and love it too!!!!!
You’re smart - doing very minimal areas of hair to blend…. Bricklaying and all of that. Some stylists want to do a thorough everything all the way through and charge for all the time… and others will do just what’s necessary for appearance -like Walter Claudio style- and charge less…..
I love a longer video without skipping showing any of the steps! It’s helps me learn! I just toned someone at the bowl yesterday and when I dried her hair there was a big piece that didn’t get any of the toner! I don’t know how because I felt like I saturated the crud out of it 🤦🏼♀️ Iv only been out of cosmetology school for like a month and I’m only doing this part time so I don’t have a ton of experience. It seems like every time I do someone’s hair I find something that Iv done wrong 😪 Thank you for all your videos, my only request is make them longer so I can see every step in detail! Also a video idea if you wanted one would be tips on how to keep my foils in place and tight to the root… since I have little experience I’m finding that very difficult
Do you work @ a corporate job or in a personal business employers? It’s hard bc they only give you such amount of time to do a service. But speak up girl day you need more time and once you’ve done consultation go to desk and say hey I will need more time than given. Stay focus and keep practicing. There are thousands of free other education such as this one and in everyone you will find your aha moment. You’ll get it dear.. I rather use a board to control my tension right @ root /base. And fold it on the board 2x then I secure foil w tail comb and lock that foil into that base. Also foil slimy not too chunky like baby lights and if you wanna a bit chunky just do 2/3 fine baby lights separated back to back -
K18 is a lifesaver!!! I left Olaplex a couple years ago and will never go back. I actively seek out salons who offer K18 - I won't waste time going anywhere else.
Tried the K18 spray in and then masque. I don’t know why but the spray smelled a bit like NaOh- and seemed to draw some of my color out of lightened hair, turning them almost white- so I’m leery of this, but the mask in amazing and I use it often to promote youngish hair. This formula feels a bit more bouncy and like natural hair, but not necessarily as strong and sleek as Olaplex. I like it but also noticed that a day or two after the hair feels a tiny bit dry as if you had hairspray or salt spray in- May be a little alcohol in the formula drying things out.
I use Olaplex and k18 both. Mix Olaplex especially in blonde me then spray the mist over misted wet hair, highlight wash then mask and tone then mask again. I only do this on super fine hair/compromised hair otherwise I’ll just use a gentler bleach with just k18 or Olaplex. I feel like you almost need both Olaplex and k18 for the entire ladder of the disulfide bonds because each product works on different bonds if that makes sense?
so interesting! I didn’t know they could be used together but i’ve still been using olaplex products on my hair along with the k18 and it’s been going great so far!
I feel like there was a distict line between the upper and lower sections. I think doing highlights and lowlights all over would have blended those se tions better. She had some reddish color on the lower section but the top didn't. So doing that would have made both sections look like one, then toning the red tone out would have made it seamless.
The results look nice although she now has to start from day one growing out the newly highlighted roots. I like that you didn’t use lowlights because mine faded color after a month and turned brassy and ugly.😅
I would have laid one foil on top of each other nd make sure to put the 7 vol on those ends a bit not overlap. Just nice to make sure the ends are slightly brighter… really shouldn’t have used the 30 on the ends after all that!!!
It's the pesky, short, new growth gray hairs at the top of my mostly light brown head that bother me. They don't play well with others. This technique seems like it'd help with that transition issue.
It looks great 👍 not sure though that anyone would get a highlight foot touch up every 4 weeks though..though t the whole point was lower maintenance than a full head of bleach
She said at the beginning this was an every 12 week touch up, as opposed to every four weeks. I get something very similar done (I have a bit more grey than this woman, but not much more), an it is the best way I've found to be really lazy about my touch ups. :)
