Thanks man! Setting it up for a trip to Wyoming with a kayak and the camping trailer. I will add some other features for another adventure.

All those holes make it very easy to attach many combinations of equipment on the top of that base platform. For my next trip I have the one case filled with regular maintenance equipment and the other top case is filled with kayaking gear.

That looks awesome. I wish the mount was a little more forward for this pilot. I feel it puts too much weight onto the rear axle while I tow. Anyways, I can't wait to see more! Subbed.

When I load the storage cases I just put the heavier items towards the front. I do wish that I could find a way to make the profile just a touch lower where it could drop in between the rails. I’m working on that.

Probably reduces wind resistance unlike some of the higher racks and storage.

You’re right Jon. My primary reason was to make sure I can still get it into the garage to avoid the nighttime “smash and grab.” But reducing wind resistance is a nice secondary benefit.

I just picked one of those Harbor Freight cases this weekend because of their 4th of July sale! Going to put it up top of my Pilot as well. Great find! It's a great sturdy case for the price. How many bolts did you use to secure your case to your rack? 4? Or 6? Can't really tell if 4 (all 4 corners) is enough.

I did 6 bolts and used washers on each side with a little butyl puddly to seal it up. I am happy with my choice, they work well. Glad you found something that will work!

That is a low profile. Very small gap between roof and rails.

It is an Apache 9800 protective rifle case.

Hi ..how much did cost you all the material to do the roof rack???

It was right around $200. Very easy to cut the superstrut… the most expensive parts were the connectors. However, if you look on Amazon you can find those cheaper than I did.
