Electronic drums have more options than ever when it comes to cymbals. Should you go with Low Volume cymbals? How about the triggered version of those? Or maybe just stick to classic rubber one? In this video I'm showing playing examples, and breaking down the pros and cons of each!
Rubber Cymbals
Pros:
1. Quieter Than Low Volume Cymbals
2. Change The Sound In Each Kit
3. Slight Advantage In Trigger Accuracy
Cons:
1. More Expensive Than Triggered
And Untriggered LV Cymbals
2. Metal Cymbals Feel Better
3. Smaller Sizes On Average
(Not Triggered) Low Volume Cymbals
Pros:
1. Larger Than Most Rubber Cymbals
2. Cheapest Cymbal Option There Is
3. Looks Much Nicer
4. The Most Acoustic Sounding Option
Cons:
1. Louder Than Rubber Cymbals
2. You Can’t Change The Sound

3. Most Are Not Worth Recording

Triggered Low Volume Cymbals:
Pros:
1. Larger Than Rubber Cymbals
2. Cheaper Than Rubber Cymbals
3. Looks Great
4. You Can Change The Sound Every Song
Cons:
1. Louder Than Rubber Cymbals
2. Not Quite As Accurate In Some Cases
