Loyola Marymount has beaten the two best WCC teams by far & have a decent record. Honestly they could win the conference, or maybe even get an at-large bid.
they probably already have too many bad losses to get on the bubble at this point (I'd count Colorado State, Pacific, San Francisco, and San Diego for sure, and BYU isn't awful but by 28 isn't a good look)
They won't get an at-large bid. Not a chance for a WCC team to get in with double digit losses. Especially considering they lost to 11-14 Colorado State.
'...an illegal timeout, so *GONZAGA* gets 2 foul shots...' 🤨🤨 I thought this was a game between Saint Mary's and Loyola Marymount... 🤣🤣...anyways, great win LMU.
What? For letting them play basketball? That just doesn’t make any sense. A foul/violation is a foul/violation with one second off the clock, one second left on the clock and every second in between.
@@pschighlights You’ve been my favorite highlights hub for awhile and to actually see my alma mater making big moments unfold like this on YOUR channel?? Someone choppin onions here 😭
This game had one of the worst commentary this year because there was no play by play person. It was two second chair commenting this. Alabama A&M and Texas Southern RU-vid commentary teams (and I think it's student produced) would've run circles between these two because they have at least a play by play.
@@ndnballin oh so people shouldn't complain about the terrible announcing? They should just either watch every game live or not at all lol? Always has to be that one clown who takes the most absurd stance on something just to take the contrarian point of view...
1:44 imagine if Saint Mary's made that shot... I would absolutely be screaming at the hills of how crazy that would've been regardless of how many times I've seen it. But hey, I'll take the upset
That ticker banner stated something about only team to beat Gonzaga, St. Mary’s and BLM in the same year as if it’s the greatest achievement in the WCC. Gonzaga has beat the entire WCC teams both home and away in 2019 & 2021 and only lost one game in three other years in league play since 2017. Hang your hat on that!
It was USF the last couple of years and now LMU is on the come-up; the WCC is getting more competitive every season and that can only benefit college basketball going forward.
HAHAHAHA. This comment shouldn’t have been this funny. Think it’s just customary, like “good try” “get the next one” “it’s alright” or “good shot” if it hits. Prob just habit
It's incredible how so many people in the comments have no idea about the selection process for the tournament lol. LMU is not even remotely close to being on the bubble. I can't imagine being a fan of a sport without knowing anything about it.
@@joem5002 lol how is it awful? You never hear anyone say that the process needs changed. You either win the auto bid or you're selected at-large based on your entire body of work. It's fair. Choosing the last couple at-large teams can be tough because there's always gonna be someone bitching about how Team A should have been in over Team B. Are you a Loyola fan and think you deserve consideration for an at-large or something? I truly need to know how the selection process is awful since you're the only person I've ever heard say that.
@@mikeyt3784 there are always wayyyy too many mediocre teams from conferences like the big ten and acc that get in , while better teams from other conferences are kept out for some reason
@@joem5002 you can't say those other teams are "better." They play significantly easier schedules. If those little guys played in the big conferences, you think their conference record would be any good? Based on how the process works, they can't just give spots to potential Cinderella's because it's fun to do that lol. There are already 30 potential Cinderella's who actually qualify for the tourney. You're that person who probably complained about who got left out of the CFP when it was 4 teams, and now that it's been expanded, you're still gonna complain about somebody being left out. Good timing on responding with Loyola losing by 100 at home last night lol. Based on your logic, however, they should probably get an at-large because their jersey says "LMU" instead of "UNC," right?
14 and 44 from St. Marys have the worst Pick and Roll Defense I have ever seen. Props to LMU on the Offensive set thought. That set had St. Marys scrambling on those pick and rolls.
If they don't alter the rule on calling a time out you don't have to give the other team possession after the 2 free throws thst will become a clock-killing strategy coaches will instruct their players to do mark my words.
If I overheard right 20 for LMU had like 31 in the second half. That ST Mary's coach should be ashamed not being able to set up a def to stop that guy for ULM. They had no answer for him (20)
This has to be the best yr for lmu by far my god as a Gonzaga fan you love you see it finally some comp in the league man congrats to lmu and the staff that’s tuff beating us on the our floor And this w if they do well in the tourney they just might have a 3 team bid ijs
The clock started early with 12seconds left about .9 seconds also at 2.7 sec again about .8-.9 secs early. Not saying it would had made a difference but 1.7 secs is a lot more than you may think. Definitely when he almost made the shot.
I'm not saying anyone these teams are bad. But when yo rank Houston Saintarys the zags bama....they will never make the leap to a natty. So many higher caliber squads that hail from tougher conferences. Who legitimately tests Gonzaga on a nightly basis? Nada. All sweet 16 teams at best.
LMU being ranked is a joke! It must be nice to be in a conference full of nobodies. Try life in the Big 12, SEC, ACC, Big 10 or PAC 12 if you actually want respect. Hell, actually win a national championship for once.
How many WCC games have you watched to say they are trash. LMU is a good team this year. They have always had decent defense in recent years. However offense and perimeter shooting along with turnover issues has kept them from averaging about 75 a game like this year. Shelton their lead guard is a stud. He tore up the zags also. I'm from syracuse and i think the ACC is trash this year. Neither duke or NC(preseason #1) are ranked. Portland took NC down to the wire. LMU beat wake forest. Zags beat #3 bama. The transfer portal and guys taking a 5th covid year had made WCC very competitive top to bottom. As a 25 year zags fan they are down some b/c Of 1 and done players suggs and holmgren. Look at what it has done to the bluebloods NC,duke, and kentucky? It takes a toll on a program along with coaching changes. LOTS of parody IN NCAA now!
