It’s a pretty solid engine. My dad got two for his truggy and my brother’s truggy. With the way my brother drives, I’m surprised the motor hasn’t broken yet Update: 2 months later, after being beat on every Sunday, 6 to 7 tanks each day, screaming down our track’s 220ft. stretch at well above 35,000 rpm, both of the engines have lost compression. Surprisingly the connecting rods lasted the entire 6-7 gallons run through the engines. Deburring the ports is definitely a must though. Both of the engines had some pretty bad damage on both the sleeve and piston on the exhaust side. Somehow didn’t kill the engine from the start. After seeing how the alpha and argus engines have the brass piece in the silicone ramp, that is something that can be done when getting these modded to help give back some counterweight to the crankshaft. Also, the stock xtech carb worked just fine for us. Both engines had a perfectly fine powerband, they tuned fine, and performed great. Solid engine for the money
I may be wrong, but the oil hole for lower end of rod is on the wrong side ( exhaust side) It should be on the end of the groove where fyuel/lubrication comes.
I’m looking for a good mod guy to modify my engines. I’d like to upgrade my trx 3.3 and looking for a good nitro. I have the Revo 3.3 any advice to which nitro engine to buy?
I’ve got a MGT 8.0 . (Yes I’m still running they dinosaur)That engine has finally shit the bed. Would this be a good replacement? I was gonna go brushless but I can’t find the mounts anymore.
Its not a bad carb but the nova carb tunes better and seems to run smoother for me.. I have a few of these and love it for the price.. check out a fee of my videos on them..but a good 28-8 is a good alternative.. great video and thanks for posting..
Just bought one, before I seen all the bad video on it. Should I just break it in or file the cylinder? And will a regular file work? Thanks for your time.
I have never owned a Revo but most use a pull start or rotostart I think. They used to race Revo's and they used a special bump box with a long reach. I personally only like bump start.
@@TheRwmods th carb for the lrp 32 always seams to lean and no matter what I do and when I’ve started looking everyone is doing the novarossi carb mod but I can’t get hold of one of them carbs anywhere so was wondering if there is anything else to try?
@@johnbibby3305 I thought if a Nova fit these would also. You have to sand a Nova to get it to fit? I am modifying a 32x I can check the size and try a few carbs.
I'm not sure to understand what making mod on a engine implies can you explain or redirect me to a place where I can understand ? These things are pretty expansive and I dont'really want to put them at death to soon xD
@@MrLilChilly I have this same engine with a Nova carb on it like so many others do as well. The stock LRP .32 spec4 carb is a long low speed needle but so is the Nova carb so your reasoning isn't accurate. I can tell you from experience that the stock LRP carb just doesn't tune the same as the Nova carb nor can it provide the same type of idle tune as the Nova carb. To someone thst actually knows how to tune, it matters a lot. While I do agree that many people can't tune a long low speed needle carb, I personally find it not only easier, but more consistent. That's a subjective point of view. I don't see the financial reasoning of buying a nearly $200 LRP .32 to then buy a $70 Nova carb. At that point you may as well just buy a Nova 28-8 which already includes the 24063 carb for $200 or under $300 already modded. Of course if you get a great deal on the LRP or already owned it before knowing better then I guess stepping up to the Nova carb isn't a bad idea.
@@Clickbaiters I stand corrected about the 24063 carb then. Im going to have to check it vs my Argus carb which doesnt come completely out the spray bar at any point from closed to wide open as the slide can be. But like you I prefer the long needle carb to a short needle as far as performance especially midrange response and rolling on the throttle. Also I agree doesn't make sense to me to buy a lrp .32 only to buy a Nova carb or any other carb for that matter instead of just getting a motor that has a carb that it seems more stable. But to each it's own. What do you think the issue is with the lrp carb that has so many people talking about how bad it is at holding a tune?
@@MrLilChilly In terms of the issue with the stock LRP carb, my personal opinion is that it's manufactured by a company that doesn't have the same commitment/standards to nitro engines like O.S, Novarossi, Reds, FX, Picco, etc but rather are more concerned with the bottom line and it shows as evidenced by the flaws on the ports of these engines. The stock .32 carb works, no denying that but it won't race tune well, if at all, and that's an issue for true nitro heads. Finally, some long low speed needles completely exit the fuel port leaving a small air gap while some sit at the rim of the fuel port at full throttle opening. They are both still considered long speed needles. Short low needle carbs are usually no more than half length while at full throttle opening.
