LS, her skin is based off of a jiangshi, which is an Eastern Vampire/Ghoul/Zombie monster... so yeah still a vampire in my books

LS! Her "Street Demon" skin (you've probably found this out already, but I think it's still neat) is based upon a Jiangshi. They're a creature from Chinese and Cantonese folklore. The name translates to "Hopping Corpse/Zombie" and they're essentially vampires with martial arts and sharp claws. The stories go that they wander around with tags on their heads draping from their hat and drain the essence out of anyone they find. They're usually defeated by decapitation or removing the tags from their hats. I must say, though, the aesthetics are wonderful on Briar and it seems August put a lot of thought into this Champion before release. Thank you very much for your analysis; I may not play League these days, but it's always a pleasure to watch!

Funny you mention Blanka, that Street Demon Briar skin reminds me a bit of Hsien-Ko from Darkstalkers (another awesome, yet forgot, Capcom fighter) and for that reason, I love it

The skin seems to be inspired in a Jiangshi or a chinese vampire (the talisman on the face is a trademark for those) so the thematic is still fitting but not in the western sense of a vampire

Teemo players are going to love this matchup in toplane. An auto-attack reliant champion with no innate regen just sounds absolutely terrible into ranged poke with auto-denial. Once she gets an item or two, she'll probably be able to engage on Teemo and outlast the blind to get access to her healing (or just heal through E), but I don't see a way for her to get access to sustain in early laning phase. On a more general note, I also see a lot of ways for self-taunting to backfire. Her R gives her a massive movement speed amp, but it doesn't sound like it gives her any CC resistance (unless I'm missing something.) What stops her from getting CC'd and then kited into oblivion? If the pursuit range is actually global, are we going to see champions with high mobility effectively hold her hostage by kiting her around for minutes at a time? I'm imagining a Quinn breaking away with a flash over pit wall, getting to ult and then just dragging Briar around the map. Does Briar just get stuck like that as long as nobody on your team kills her? EDIT: Never mind, apparently you can just cancel the frenzy with E. So the self-CC is pretty much useless when compared with the dash and AOE fear. That's certainly going to make her easier to balance, but I also think that's incredibly lame. Nobody in their right mind is going to opt into losing their ability to control their champion in teamfights. They'd need to make the reward for keeping the ult up completely broken for people to even consider using it for an extended period, and even then, short of literal invulnerability, it's unlikely the stat amps are going to make enough of a difference when you can get absolutely crapped on by basic CC abilities. The strategy is probably going to be R to engage, then immediately E to cancel frenzy and chain CC feared targets. Then you can use your abilities like normal to finish out the fight.

I would love to get a new Assassin Jungler... Last Junglers were Viego (Bruiser), Bel'Veth (Bruiser) and now Briar who also builds Trinity, Black Cleaver, Bork etc.

imo she seems pretty fun in terms of builds. You can prolly run just about any ad build and it would prolly work(depending on team comps ofc). I definitely see Bruiser being the most consistent, but On-Hit or Assassin would prolly work really well.

This looks like snowball the champion but I wonder if her fed gimmick is similar to Mejai's where you need to stay alive to keep the momentum and reset when you die. Either way, I feel like Briar would be an OTP type of champion where she is very niche in pro play but in the chaos that is SoloQ, she can get a lot of easy looks and snowball hard.

i imagine if u just follow her early and help her get fed which i picture would be pretty easy with follow considering champ plays itself for some part and after that just follow her in teamfights and it might be jover
