@@Ls_swap211 it's a great truck it's coming along nicely I have myself a 1998 s10 I want to do this swap but just want a good strong v8 was thinking a Sbc because I like it more the look old school style
@@Blessed_be_Israel nothing wrong with a old school setup Me and my best bud are both building trucks and I went ls and he went 383 sbc and I’m learning more myself about the non ls stuff lol
Thank you I found it local on market place It was built by a place in Ohio that builds aluminum porch furniture lol I took it and made the aluminum angle that rides on the bed sides but it originally had rubber that went around it and on a hot day it would sink into the bed some Love to find a old school checkermate cover That’s what I ran on Al my s10s years ago and I tried to model this cover as one lol
I got a 96 sportside in the barn been parked 8 years id like to do this to mine one day when i get the time and money dont know how you making that NV 3500 work i ruined mine with the 4.3
I haven’t been real hard on it because it won’t shift above 6000rpm hardly so I don’t bother trying to race much I’m currently putting a t56 and 8.8 as we speak
@@Blessed_be_Israel nv3500 is a 5spd transmission from the company new venture It came in a lot of trucks from s10,Silverado,dodge ram, dodge Dakota ,jeep It’s only rated for 300ftlbs of torque and has some odd low gear ratios for pulling with trucks
The swap was very easy My truck originally was a 4.3 4l60e and I didn’t have to change or mod anything but the crossmember (it was mostly for exhaust room) I got my nv3500 from a 2004 Silverado 60k miles on it and I used a 4.8 clutch and flywheel since they came paired with a nv3500 from oem I think I’m making somewhere around 425-450crank hp based on what they advertise my cam and what my injectors are duty cycling at so it’s more then enough to kill the nv3500 but it’s unchanged since it went in the truck I’m losing a lot of speed because my cam pulls around 7k rpm but the nv3500 won’t shift above 6300rpm so I short shift it and 3rd is very hit or miss in a wot run It’s geared low 1st gear is useless and 2nd gear is the same as 1st in a t56 roughly so I launch in 2nd gear on the street Any other questions you have I’m here to help best I can with it I’m only $500 into mine and it’s done me well so far considering lol
I’m getting ready to swap to a 8.8 The 7.5 has done great but I keep sabotaging myself by not setting backlash or too much pinion bearing preload but other then that it’s been solid
