I believe the abuse mode is a different system than the traction control. Inside HPTuners you can affect both of the systems independently, so I assume they are not related.
@@CarswellsCustoms thank you..i disambled abuse mode in trans as says in your video .end i remove abuse mode in Engine from 1600 to 8000 end 0mh end run great..the only promplem i have maf didnt work...
I sent my ecm back to the guy I got everything disabled from, he said everything looked good and sent it back to me when I received it I plugged it back in and it revs normal now, the only thing I did while he had it was change the temperature sensor
Do you have the VSS hooked into the LS harness? I’m having a very similar issue i also have an 01or 02 Yukon 5.3l with a manual behind it. Mine will not rev which I’m guessing is the abuse mode and it is also idling very high. Thanks for your help
Hi @Robert shortridge correct the VSS is not hooked up as our harness was trimmed down by someone else. Disable Abuse Mode and it should work. Idling high in my experience is either the idle screw is improperly adjusted or a vacuum leak. Borrow a smoke machine from a buddy and do a smoke test - its the fastest way to be sure. I have a video showing the operation of one. Let me know what you find out! Do you have HPTuners to complete the job?
Not currently but highly considering buying hptuners had someone locally do my harness and ecu trying to get back with them currently to get some changes made i have searched and searched for a vacuum leak with no luck other than a cracked regulator boot that made no difference.
@@rshortridge8806 Go in on HTPuners with a buddy. I use mine for troubleshooting error codes along with analyzing datalogs. Great tool and its not hard to learn at all. "The Tuning School" has great instruction manuals and classes, its super easy with all the support thats out now. Reach out if you need any help. I have a tuning vid if you want to see how its done.
Ya my first LS swap I’m sure there will be another plus i plan to cam this one once i get the bugs worked out from the swap. I’m sure it will be worth having
So i went and bought hp tuners and disabled abuse mode and it didn’t seem change the fuel cut. But i also don’t see an option for transmission selection. Just prndl options. Any thoughts
Ok, I would first start with pulling a plug and visually verifying spark, if I had spark I would then go right to the Schrader valve on the fuel line and verify 58psi or more. Let me know what you find out.
Please remind me, was your G8 a GT or a 6cyl? I know the G8 Gt's had 58tooth reluctar wheels, I dont remember the year of your 5.3 but verify it is also a 58tooth and not a 24tooth wheel. Crank sensor signal is required by the ECM to provide continued electric power to the fuel pump, I believe spark too, so checking the reluctor wheel, wiring harness and sensors would be other possibilities.
