@@redgoatgarage I'm sorry I'm new to the American motor stuff I only know Porsche my whole life that's all I do is the 4l80 about the same size as a 6l80 I've noticed that it's much taller and if I do about a 3° incline I think I can get it to fit
Hey nice build man I have a 62 coupe deville and ima do this exact swap but i.a go with a 5.3 and a 4l60e, can you do another video about the shifter and gauges please
Hey Elton! Right now the car is packed away for winter so I can't easily reach it to make other videos. However there were some articles done on these two pieces. Check out these two articles and the pictures which will help show you more of what we did. Remember this is a Limo, so it has the dash out of a '59 in it. lateral-g.net/going-beyond-the-red-line-with-dakota-digital/ and lateral-g.net/shiftin-gears-with-lokar-performance-products/
@@lateral-g4626 hey brother quick question on the oil pan you used in this I have a 63 cadillac and was curious if you have any issues with steering clearing the pan once installed. I was trying to understand how you fabbed up the motor mounts but I can’t picture it correctly. However devious said their kit will fit and they just air hammer the trans tunnel from your install do you recall how much tolerance was needed for the trans tunnel.
@@michaelteague7487 Hey Michael - no issues at all with steering clearance. The mounts are just fabbed up pieces of metal I had laying around...not a kit or didn't really start with anything else. On the trans tunnel I'm not sure. Devious knows their stuff so I'd trust them. I didn't feel like taking the engine and trans out 100x trying to figure it out, so I just cut the entire hump out and started fresh. But I don't think that's required, just what I decided to do.
You probably won’t see my comment but I have a 1961 cadillac and I did an ls1 swap but I’m having trouble with the wiring to the ignition, any tips on where the wires tie into the relays? I can’t find a spot for The old coil wire from the old motor that runs from the ignition
Hey I did see your comment! haha. My harness for the engine just needed a hot, hot in run, ground, etc....so I just found those in the factory Cadillac wiring under the dash. I have no idea what wires they were, I just used a test light and found those sources to tap off of. I hope that helps!
Yes we did get a custom driveshaft made from Inland Empire Driveline. They used a carrier bearing out of a 3500 Dodge so it's easily replaceable. But in theory you could just shorten that front half and put a different yoke on it and it would work. Rear end is 100% stock, just tossed in some new bearings and seals is all.
I'll try my best. I used LS to SBC adapters, then used an off the shelf SBC motor mount. On the frame side, I had a set of frame horns off a Chevelle I cut up, then I just grabbed some scrap metal I had and welded the tops of those horns to the frame. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures or videos of that.
Hey bud what did you use for the throttle cable I'm working on a 1960 Cadillac coupe DeVille it has the kick down bracket is wierd it looks like it's opposite when you press the pedal TIA
@@joseiturbide4175 Man I really don't know. I just called Lokar and bought it but that was also 10 years ago so I don't remember the exact part number.
Hey so do you know exactly what borgeson sleeve you got? I’ve been back and forth to summit racing because I can’t find the right measurement or spline count for the shaft and I’m at the point where I might just cut the ends off the rag joint and fabricate my own
Hey there sorry just seeing this. I called Borgeson directly. I do remember that one end I had to drill it out. Something like the hole was 5/8" and it needed to be 3/4 or something like that. Been awhile.
Hey there - this is my Cadillac. Unfortunately no I don't have a part number. I bought it from Borgeson. I do remember calling them and telling them what I had and what I was trying to do and they got me the right one.
Hey there - those gauges are a universal set up they have that I made fit into the stock dash. HOWEVER, since this is a limo it has the dash out of a '59/60 in it, not the traditional '62 dash. But the good news is that you can send your cluster to Dakota Digital and they can retrofit it with new gauges that look old school. The gauge part number for the ones I used are VHX-1018

Not in Cali - but funny enough thats where me and the car have been their entire lives up until two years ago. I know Devious Customs in Riverside does quite a few LS swaps.
Sorry I just saw your question...I didn't run a factory compressor. Just last month I installed a complete Restomod Air kit which mounts the compressor off the passenger side head.
That fuel pump set up is way to dangerous man, that would not be legal here in New Zealand and you would never be allow to drive it on the road like that.
100% legal here in the states. I think at some point we will convert it to an in-tank set up, but we had all this laying around and made it work for now.
