My daily commuter is an 06’ Ion Redline... been running your Stage 3 kit with a 2.9” pulley for 4 years now with no issues, good to see there are still tuners who work with LSJs. Good stuff!
Would really have been nice to have someone that actually likes the LSJ to give this advice. This is hard to watch and Bo is hard to work with! I loved the LNF top five video because that guy is the Boss and we all love the Snobalt.
Man i fell in LOVE with the platform when these came out in 05 as the cobalt SS (I was working as a tech at the dealership from 2003-2010) and never picked one up UNTIL the LNF was introduced with the GMS1 kit and while i love both the LSJ and LNF im so glad i got an LNF. I still have it to this day and its throwing down 320Whp/340Wtq and i have enjoyed this car more than any other vehicle ive owned! LOVE ZZP! Keep up the FANTASTIC work guys.
06 stage 3 with 55k . It’s installed the kit it’s now tuned on e85 . It lays it down lots of power in these engines . Which is why people go turbo on em . Lsj t best turbod engine on a cobalt
I just called and talked with ZZP rep it was a lady so Helpfull I will be buying from them in two weeks because of it she helped me with my ion redline 05
My LSJ has a shorty header, 3in down and catback, Stage 3 with 2.8-inch pulley, dual-pass endplate (no option B), and the intake manifold spacer. And the importance of regularly checking the IC pump. With the ZZP tune, the will make the pump turn on when the key is on. makes it really easy to verify the pump is spinning. I like the sound of the 3in exhaust but it can be very irritating, that is the biggest complaint people have about being a passenger in my car.
recently put your guys stage 3 kit on my 06 redline. ITS KICKASS. it keeps up with v8s on a roll. as in 5.0s gonna be dumping more money using your platform. and my ac still works. zzp got every kink worked out that gm didnt
Going to depend on your goals. For the average daily build, the shorty with a downpipe is a great combo. For those looking to squeeze every drop of HP out of their supercharged build the long tube header package will be your best bet. A replacement header is not necessary when doing a catback.
So you dont recommend as a cooling function the snow performance meth injection or killer chiller? Works great on my sl55 amg and my 85 escort gt turbo?
My 05 cobalt ss/sc has option b, dual pass, k&n typhoon intake, 2.9” pulley, zzp long tube headers, 2.5” catted downpipe, zzp 2.5” catback exhaust w resonator. Next Im ordering zzp stage 1 IC pump, siemens 80# injectors and a tune. what do you recommend after mod 5 though? I want to twin charge the LSJ with the z54 turbo swap kit from zzp.
The factory LSJ header ports are smaller than the ports on the LSaj cylinder head therefore you won't see any real gains unless you obviously get your head ported. For most supercharged builds all you need is a 2.5 high flow downpipe & fatback.
You don't HAVE to, but it's not the worst idea. I have converted five of my own Redlines to E and the stock pump has never failed me. I did have that oddball 1/4 tank problem so if it happens to you then a new pump isn't a terrible idea and you might as well toss in the AEM Green pump while you're at it.
@@kirbyswarp The stock pump is fine. I have converted five of my own LSJ's to E85 and I didn't change the pump nor did I have issues. One of them has been on E85 for six years now, with no sign of problems from the stock pump.
I'm from WNY 😅. I don't see a single modded car without an exhaust. I ordered one for my cobalt, I'd highly recommend going for it. Enjoy your car and don't let the world stop you from having fun.
@@hybridyd1305 I know what you mean, hell even two guys I worked w/ at a local dominos were running aftermarket stuff including exhausts. They would say their cars aren't exactly legal lol but the cops didn't really care plus one of them were life long friends w/ them. I just feel like if I do it I'd get pulled over for it haha.
Sharing to our page. Even though we are going to do a turbo swap on the LSJ fiero, this is still good info. Al, you are doing very well, we are proud to support! Check out our channel if you want to see what we are up too.
I've been wondering the same thing, want to get one for my 07 redline comp package. They have been out of stock since I got the car back in February unfortunately
@@gotblonde4u hope so i got time. Running a saab LK9 instead of the LSJ (catastrophic failure). Picking up the block tomorrow and beginning the process of swapping whats needed and getting ready for install.
@@Irish_Hooligan that's unfortunate, but luckily those motors are very similar, ide be curious what all has to be swapped over. Are you going to keep it turbocharged?
LOL K04 leaving a TVS1320 in the dust roll racing? Well that's just flat out not true at all. You'll always see more horsepower out of a TVS vs K04 due to the limitations of the turbo. ZZPerformance is home to the record TVS1320 dyno pull that make 450whp+ but if loads of useless torque on the street is your thing by all means stick to spinning tires.
I know im going Tvs myself.. My goal is too beat the record for Supercharged LSJ's and shit if that record of 450hp is true.. Ive got some work too do😂 my best dyno was 315hp and 298tq off of a ported M62 with a 2.8 pulley ported t-body ported head with full bolt ons full cooling mods & E85 Also fixing too get the ZZP Racing block and machined ported head from ZZP For the new Tvs setup..
