LSV's Vintage Cube - The Best Yet? 

Except Shaq is a gigantic insecure man child, and LSV is a consummate professional

Honestly a perfect analogy. It's so fun, it makes you remember just how insanely good he is, it's a completely different kind of interesting compared to watching him face off against the best of the best who not only know how to build decks but also know how to hate draft against LSV Like, not only were his opponents' decks worse (shocking amount of "turn 3 no players"), he also would almost never be allowed to draft a deck this absurdly powerful, I've watched all of his team drafts and I feel like at MOST one of his decks could've matched against this one (and naturally, that deck swept his opponents quite handily).

@@codetaku To be fair to the draft pod, it's in the pod's best interests for everyone to have their best possible deck when it goes to League play. But, yeah, the quality of the opponent's decks and some... questionable card evaluations by his pod... Are in quite stark contrast to the Team Draft discord games that he records

Those team drafts are wild. Seeing LSV get dunked on with that level of frequency is something else. He's really really good at cubing and those team drafts make him look middle of the road which is of course just because the players in the draft are all on his level.

I would also argue that doing all those team drafts with players of that level has also made LSV better. Being able to discuss picks and strategies with some of the best players ever certainly helps. As we watch the cube videos we can see LSV's evaluations changing. Most every opponent in the queues is not going to have that level of practice and discourse.

in pack1 every white card weeled

White is open a lot for whatever reason, and it's really strong. I've had very good success drafting mono white and red white creature decks.

I don't think Memory Jar has ever been seen as unplayable in Cube; it's always at least been a high value pick up for storm when storm. Now that storm is sort mid, it sees plays as a value card elsewhere, but it's always been extremely powerful.

I had a blue "mono brown" deck in the last iteration that also got upheaval, jar and academy and in two games I managed to upheaval during a jar turn - making them discard apl permanents they had ;) Feels good!

I guess something including lotus/led and underworld breach could be similarly consistent and a smidge faster, but yeah

there was an amazing monoblack reanimator tendrils deck that I think LSV said was one of if not the best ever, and it trophied, but it lost a game or two.

This one went 6-0 aswell so...?

That most likely just discards a bunch of cards at end of turn for no real gain.

Vintage cube is the best format known to magic. It is actually addicting. Just watching this video makes me itch to go draft it.

It’s one of those things you just have to jump in and try. I was really uncertain until LR started having more content about it earlier this year, and now I’m fully on board.
