**Always Choose HD**
Finally we're back in the garage with some of this seasons upgrades to the HatredCopter C10! In part 1, the complete front end comes off and the inner fenders come out. The benefit? Weight loss, underhood real-estate, and super easy access to everything else under the hood. It also gives us a head start on things like the head, header, and motor mount upgrades we've got coming.

Great video. I’m especially curious about unbolting the fenders on fresh paint. My c10 will have just gotten all it’s body painted but I still need the motor and transmission to go in and I’m concerned about keeping it looking as fresh as it does!

Did I miss how you got the steering column from the inner fender?

You reference a video or instructions on installing fender shield. Where is that? Or the rear closing panel to the fender brace. Any help there? Also do you have anything on removing/ Replacing grill support? I have a 61. Thanks

That was stuff posted to my build thread on the 67-72 chevy truck forums, and in some how-to threads I had over there as well. The writeups might still exist, but I think most of the photos don't link anymore after photobucket stopped free hosting.

Love Watching your videos I also have a 1966 Chevy c10 that I'm putting a 6.0 in it do you have any videos on how you did the wiring
@REVJHD
@REVJHD 5 лет назад
Naw I don't unfortunately. The engine wiring harness was ordered from FuelInjectionConnection. We ripped all the body wiring out and started fresh for all of that stuff.

Whats your plan on hood hinges? I'm just starting my 66 C10 build and I plan to run air ride and get as low as I can with stock crossmember so I'm thinking I'll need to do away with my inner fenders for sure since I plan to run 20" wheels. I'm looking for suggestions on best bang for the buck cowl mounted hood hinges or any other option.

What's the plan? Are you going to coat the back of the panels to stop the rust or something?
@REVJHD
@REVJHD 9 лет назад
Nitrousco2 You mean the inner fenders? Nope, those are gone and not coming back. I might coat the actual fender itself with liner to protect it now that the inners are out...but not sure yet. We took them out to gain the room, lose weight, and give us more permanent access to the headers/steering shaft/heads/suspension. Its only part 1, so there are a bunch more things that will be covered!

What exhaust manfold is that off of?. Looks like they fit between the frame rails without modification.

The existing cast manifolds are the TrailBlazer SS stock units. Later in this video series we switch to a HeddMan header with some minor mods.

How did you get the front clip off with the steering column still in place? I have the same truck and just started my tear down. Just curious. This video helped me until I got to that point lol
@REVJHD
@REVJHD 4 года назад
I have an aftermarket column, with DD joints on the intermediate shaft. It comes in and out in like a minute or so. If your on a stock column, you'd have to disconnect the ragjoint at the steering gear or free the column at the cab.
