I'm a fan of LT Wright knives. Really enjoy watching them in action whenever there are videos that highlight them. This Gary Wines Bushcrafter is a beautiful knife.
Lt Wright makes this same knife Gary Wines bush craft "hunter" the hunter version has a 5 inch blade but same handle of the regular bush crafter . The longer blade is perfect at 5 inches not too big and not too short, just right . I am surprised there is only one review on the Gary Wines bushcraft hunter on youtube that I could find . The price is similar too and you get a larger blade , maybe you guys can do a review on it in the future?.
i got mine about a month ago and it's a great knife. The sheath that it comes with is also a high quality leather, i like that the knife sits deep in the sheath so it can't come out easily.
Christian Bullas He'll put up the new order list when the current batch ships. They are in the final stages now...mounting/epoxying the handles then shaping and cleanup. The best way is to join the Pout House forum. After the second batch, it'll become a full production knife that you'll be able to get direct from LT or the different sellers that carry LTWK.
Another great vid guys keep up the amazing work. I have decided that i am going to get a decent camera and do my own channel for prepping/survival/bushcraft and you guys are my inspiration for doing so. I am only 16 but have loved this stuff for years. Any suggestions for names for the channel would be appreciated because I cannot think of any good names haha. But again thanks for the videos and the inspiration, both mean alot to me. Josh.
Chris that was nice battoning from 730! Great work from all three of you guys why no series of LT vid from the three of you? You would have so many subscriptions!
I'm glad to see LTWK using O1 steel. I own a Genesis and Small Workhorse ( I think) in A2. those are quality knives that hold an edge , but I have to work to get them back sharp. I was thinking of getting the Forrest Trail to have as a b.o.b. survival knife but decided to go with the Battle Horse platoon Scout since it was O1. for me, O1 is easier to get sharp in the field. but LTWK puts out as high of quality knives as BHK.
Thanks for the input. Any chance of you doing a review of the LT Bushcraft Hunter, the larger GW's version. I was also wondering if you would ever consider or refer me to someone on the Gauntlet that would test these knives on skinning hogs or other equally tough skinned animals. Most Knife (steels) won't last 10 minutes on a Hog or a Nilgai without having to stop and resharpen several times. Ive never tried tool steel by I am anxious to give it a go. Thanks again for your input on all this great gear.
Nice. I'm not much of a outdoors bushcrafter like you guys, buried work with wood professionally. Well that could be be taken a few different ways. Anyways have you tried the cold steel ultimate hunter? I know it's a folder but ...damn what a fantastic blade . And for almost everything. I put it against some kiln dried hardwood and it just flew through it.
im thinking about ordering this knife right now but its a toss up either this knife or a plsk 1 ive been eyeing the plsk1 for a few years now would you perfer this knife over the plsk?
When Jessi was batoning, she did it left handed, but other tasks shows she is right handed. Well done Jessi, I would have busted my hand (or something else) trying to baton left handed.
Man all these LT Wrights! You don't just have to use knives that you know will perform great, trying putting some more production self claimed "survival" or "bushcraft" knives through the gauntlet and see how they go for a cheaper alternative if people so desire to purchase them :)
Not personally, no. I don't like my bushcrafters thick like some do. That's why my LTWK knife is 1/8" thick. I like the Genesis, but actually prefer the Bushcrafter over that. My top 4 favorite LTWK knives in order are: Jessmuk, Bushcrafter, Genesis, GNS.
Okay we know you love LT Wrights knives, see you guys can shave wood with it, and hack through wood with it, but can it skin and animal with it! my little swiss knife prep a pot belly pig can you show at least prepping an already feather chicken how well it can handle that you guys and gal can though it on the grill while showing other stuff this great LT Wrights top dollar knife can do, maybe just maybe I will buy it for my gal to have a good kitchen knife. Thank you for sharing the video.
snoop u I don't think THIS particular knife would be a good kitchen knife. I could DO it, but it's a bit thicker. However, MY knife (1/8" thick vs 5/32) works pretty well with that stuff....especially since the blade sweep is based off an ULU. Watch Grierwolfe's JX2 Jessmuk review. Mostly kitchen-based. Also Blue Mountain Bushcraft and Outdoors did the pig processing. These Gauntlet reviews are intended to be little pieces of one big multi-channel review. First guy gets the boring stuff usually.
