Hi sir . Just by change ' dont you have the bearing numbers and seals in the ltz engine . Not the part no but the excual bearing numbers and seals . It will be highly appreciated for thoseb
Hi Lucas, I do not have the actual bearing numbers I am sorry. For reference, I used OEM Bearings for the crank and counter balancer. I used the hotrods kit for all the transmission bearings.
Hey do you know what the hp is on the engine in your ltz400 right now and what's the difference between the 2 engines. I just bought a 05 spare parts quad and plan on building the engine for my wifes spare on her 03. I plan on doing a big bore, cams, and the drz valve springs. Plus your ltr swingarm setup is sick and I've been looking for one to do it with. I'm also looking into the fcr carb upgrade too. What are your thoughts on all this?
I do not know the exact hp number. The Z engines definitely aren't power houses but do put it down in a tractable/usable manner that translates to a pretty quick quad with the right person on it. If I had to put a horsepower number on it I bet its around 43ish horsepower; maybe 45 with the carb jetted perfectly. I could probably squeeze out more with better cams, port work, and a better intake. I'm still running the stock Z intake which is known to be restrictive. That sounds like a really solid plan to me. That will be a strong and reliable engine.
I'm also planning on doing some head work too so it should help. I know that there was a few builders when these were in there prime that were making 50-60hp but I'm not looking to spend that much money. Are the drz valve springs a stock part?
@@brandoncounts711 Yep, once you increase displacement above 450-460 they start to scream but need a lot of other supporting mods. Not sure how the trans would hold up to that overtime as I chipped 3rd gear on a bolt on stock bore. Yes the DRZ Dual Rate Valve Springs are an OEM part number. Just go to any OEM part section like on RMATV.com and go to a 2000 or 2001 DRZ400E. You have to use the E model as they were the ones with dual rate. There is a Kawasaki part number also if you can't find the Suzuki.
It's a generic 434 big bore cylinder with a CP Piston. From AZ Quad Parts. Here is the link: www.ebay.com/itm/201962893982?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=jO9X_8PPSRW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=CoVICdKcTn-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
