He kind of did. He was same as all them Liu being betrayed his kind ,take a land, betrayed with, taking their land. Cao Cao, wrote the book on during that time period worst Cao Cao would take other people wives. Lu bu was loyal, he was lie too and tricked. And then became somewhat questionable.
A big thing driving Lu bu to kill dong zhuo to begin with was wang yun’s machinations. Lu Bu feared killing Dong Zhuo as he did not wish to be labeled as a backstabber and a traitor. Wang Yun pretty much convinced Lu Bu that killing Dong zhuo would allow him to redeem himself for killing Ding Yuan in the eyes of others as dong zhuo was a tyrant and a traitor, and killing dong zhuo would make Lu bu a hero. Lu Bu ambushed Dong Zhuo at a false ceremony of Wang Yun’s making and Dong Zhuo was slain. Wang Yun is killed by Dong Zhuo’s generals, Lu bu attempts to save him but Wang Yun refuses his offer leaving Lu Bu no choice but to leave him or be surrounded and killed as well. Lu Bu is then labeled a traitor, a backstabber, and disloyal to all those around him leading him to become paranoid and make some very questionable choices. He is captured by Cao Cao, executed by public hanging, and gets his head placed on a pike, not even a burial for him. His entire life he was manipulated, first manipulated into killing Ding Yuan, then manipulated by Diao Chan and Ding Yuan into killing Dong Zhuo with the promise of redemption, and was labeled that which he feared for doing so. His story is actually quite sad, he was not even the worst person in this time period despite him often being depicted as such. He was manipulated, used, and had his own morals turned against him by others in an effort to use his unrivaled strength and reputation for their own gain. Once he no longer trusted others or allowed himself to be manipulated, he was then used as a stepping stone for greater renown and recognition by rulers across the land, which lead to his untimely death. Warlords used Ding Yuan’s death as evidence for Lu Bu’s corruption and nature of betrayal, denying any claims that Lu Bu could have made on killing Dong Zhuo for a just reason. It didn’t help that the only person who could have vouched for him (Wang Yun) was dead. This made it easier to rally others towards warlords who were against him. It was quite literally a form of early propaganda that labeled Lu Bu as the epidemy of evil who would stab anyone who didn’t keep an open at night while they sleep. His paranoia towards his soldiers and allies due to all the manipulation he suffered from only made him easier to label as an untamed beast. So yeah he is probably the most misrepresented person during that time period, due to unfortunate circumstances, bad luck, and the manipulations of others. He unfortunately went down in history as a highly paranoid and disloyal backstabber with the rage and unkept anger of an untamed beast. Something that was largely against his own self morals and beliefs.
As much as I hate to admit that I know little about Honda Tadakatsu, Lu Bu scared the living *SHIT* out of me when I first met him in Dynasty Warriors 4. I will not lie when I say I was pissing myself just at the SIGHT of this man. 8 gave off his fearsome and most intimidating look yet, and he still makes me afraid even to this day! And this is coming from a seasoned Dynasty Warriors veteran - I know to steer clear from _this_ guy! Unless you wanna see yourself get slaughtered a thousand times over on your first attempt, let me give you a piece of advice: *STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HIM AND DIAOCHAN OR HE WILL KICK YOUR ASS!*
Considering how often Cao Cao and weight characters have been getting the spotlight in trailers in dw 8 Empires and dw 9/9 Empires it's only a matter of time.
I agree they need to put thought into making that game a crossover between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors . They also need to remake the whole game put more into it like time and love this game could be a great success make it more realistic looking and like the ancient Asian Dynasties bring in more empires
The fact that Koei went as far as introducing reality-bender character just to get these two fandoms together means they care enough about lore instead of dumping these two together for no reason. So yeah, it's unlikely to happen.
He was compared to Zhang Fei because he was like him, a mighty warrior with great loyalty, unlike Lubu, a traitor and a backstabber asshole who leave his allies in the middle of a battle and try to rape other generals wives.
