Just to weigh in there are actually 4 aspects to strength. 1) Is the coordination and learning of a movement, this doesnt transfer to other activites 2) Is the effect training has on the nervous system and making its rate coding for a muscle more efficient and coordinated, this has some carry over to other activities, i.e. making your body good at squatting will also make you good at jumping.
Also, it doesnt only apply to strenght. Speed on both body movements and Senses can be turn super human and break world records BY a normal person. It only happens on Accidents where theres life and death situations thats why we are not aware of its existence Since its not everyday we ecounter such things. The Goal of ALL athlete is to DO this Feat of Strenght conciously, at there Will and without the negative effects. The ONLY reason theres negative effect is cause our body isnt used to it.
Yes indeed me too, I freaked out yesterday because the judges wouldn't let him do the last snatch. I could saw it on his face that he was going to lift that 177kg like a feather lol
3) Size of the muscle, a larger muscle has fibres that have a greater angle of attack over the joint they act on, giving better leverage to pull or push the joint. 4) Disinhibition of golgi tendon organs, these monitor the strain on tendons during an activity and will limit forces to prevent muscles from ripping off the bone. Training can raise the activation threshold of gto's by strengthening your tendons giving access to more of your potential strength.
The dude said their actual training time is 2 hours, starts at 3PM. I guess the rest of the day are consists of warmups, mobility works, or accessory drills
This is also why people psyche themselves up before a big lift and/or sniff ammonia, it causes the release of adrenaline simulating a life or death situation which inhibits the golgi tendon organ response and temporarily makes you a little stronger (though nowhere near as strong as if your gf were trapped under a car or something). This is also why 1RM attempts cause more injuries and take longer to recover from, exceeding the golgi tendon activation threshold damages your muscles and tendons.
lu haojie is gonna give him a run for his money. also watch out for hysen pulaku, barely did 188 at 2011 WWC but just hit 211/166 in training, definite medal contender.
Who would even plan on doing clean and jerk when your inside a burning building and you see dead people around you? You wont do clean and jerk but if theres anything thats blocking your way you would be able to pick up 3x your own weight to save your own life. Yes, we are talking about the same thing, the body has its own limiter and trainer reduce. BUT no one has even made it zero by training. Only time the Limiter goes zero is on accidents. So Yes, zero limiter means max strenght.
Damn dude's pretty damn strong, the coach said he almost got 180kg in training and does 210kg routinely. If he's having a good day, I really hope he can break the C&J record in next major meet.
I did NOT mistype an athlete from a normal person. A NORMAL person CAN LIFT 3x its own body weight BUT like I said it comes with a prize. In accidents our body unconciously goes to overdrive at the same time overheat and damage itself. The weight lifter GOAL is to get rid of the negative effect and at the same time do it conciously. When I meant normal it means a person who doesnt DO this things. Like example a person who doesnt exercise and stays on the computer 24/7
Nope, Base on facts a normal person can carry 3-4x its own weight. But it comes with a price of course. The Goal of power Lifter is to get rid of that price and be able to do what the body is capable of doing conciously and safely. Thats the reason why records on a specific weight division isnt that far from each other cause theres a limit to how heavy you can cary at a specific weight. Its just, NOT everyone is aware of that facts so people like you think "OMG thats imposible" gues again ^,..,^
for a second there i was going to say "the neural disinhibition effect is so overated", but then i checked the previous comments and the 3x bodyweight thing mentioned was in regards to powerlifting. LOL there's no way the average person can clean & jerk 3x bodyweight in any situation, especially since the records of 77kg weight class aren't even that close to that. it's true though that through training you can get your body to remove its neuromuscular "brakes" and lift more than you should
Maybe that's cuz in the old times drug control was not as advanced and frequent as today where everyone must cycle these shit out constantly to avoid getting caught. Many records nowadays are less than slightly lower weight classes back in the days.
I'm not sure it reaches above 300. If the color coding is what I'm used to, the weight should be about 260kgs. Still a completely immense weight to do snatch pulls on.
If you're not familiar with professional weightlifting - athletes are on steroids during training - but have to get off them before competing (to not get caught). That's why he performs better when training.
Steroids have been standard use in the olympics since the 1950's where have you been lmao. Coaches talk about it openly, they just have to pass the drug test. Everyone knows it
Its actualy better that he didnt, He broke the record this year. Means next olympics he would be able to break it again. If they gave him a chance to do his Max then what will happen next olympics? He give his opponents the idea of what to beat and that would be a big disadvantage to him.
Green plates = 10kg Yellow plates = 15kg Blue plates = 20kg Red plates = 25kg This is only if these plates follow the standard. If they aren't, it's anybody's guess.
The difference is only one of magnitude not type, also you seem pretty angry for no reason, you should probably deal with whatever issues are causing that.
A bit hard to see, but it looks like blue, yellow, blue, blue, green, yellow on each side, so assuming I see the right colors and number of weights as well as the color coding being the one normally used Olympic weight code, that would be 220 kg (same as 4 reds on each side). Which seems reasonable considering he is doing deadlift with snatch grip and his snatch record is at 176 kg
