@@playerkingofnewyorkcity2581 that was WR for the 77kg weight class. its crazy how Lu set the 77kg class WR above the 81kg class WR. what a era we live in lmao
BOOM SLANG yeah it’s crazy to think about that. Proves that he’s the only one that can do it ever. Although I think IWF should make a rule that if a lighter class has a record that’s higher than any of the class heavier, the heavier class’s record should also be that higher record from the lighter class.
@@playerkingofnewyorkcity2581 I was think the same as you but at old time Men's Category only just few mens do it like Urik Vardanyan ,Naim Suleymanoglu and some else .At 2000+ era only Women's Class had some like that example LiuChunHong(-69kg) at Beijing 2008 ,Her Total was 286kg was even surpass WorldRecord at -75kg that time 👍
Chen Lijun has the oddest base when he lifts in the snatch--right leg almost corkscrewed out. It's odd, but it's also very effective for him. Terrific lifter. In fact, all of them are. Just amazing, really.
18:00 After this man, who is about 200ib, Shi Zhiyoung attempts a higher weight than him. (Just to give you an idea of how strong he is, even at 161 pounds or so.)
Yes, its on purpose because he has a crazy hip mobility,if he does a snatch with normal leg separation his butt will touch the ground and thats a fault in weightlifting
Just mainly surprised by the power cleans. Mainly the commentator was introducing numbers such as everyone’s PR, WR at their weight class, their medals and numbers at major events. TBH the commentator was not a pro and couldn’t make any useful remarks anyway.
lol, she wasn't mad. that's just how excited chinese people sound she said "Good lift! Shi Zhiyong 194 kg, good lift for a total of 364 kg. With that lift, he just beat the world record of 363 kg. Everybody, give a round of applause!"
most of the weightlifting talent comes from the poor rural south from the 1980s. most of them are farmers and poor. so they're mostly smaller. Lu Xiaojun, Shi Zhiyong, Tian Tao are all from the south (Guilin/Changyang/Hunan), all recruited from rural farmer area. if they want bigger chinese weightlifters, they need to recruit the Northern Chinese, where they're bigger city folk. The biggest guy in this video is Yang Zhe. He's from the very very north of China in Liaoning... dude is 6'2" and 109 kg. All the northern chinese guys are much bigger.... give it another 20 years or so and you'll have much bigger Chinese weightlifters. don't forget China was a poor poverty stricken third world country in the 80s... people were going hungry.
