Yes I actually do. I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS. It's a 3.2l V6 I change my oil very often just because the car is old, 217,000 miles old currently. Anyways, I Used AutoZone oil, so basically STP Synthetic high mileage, and the car runs great with it. I did a oil change last month with the same kind of oil but this time I added that Lucas Low Viscosity Stabilizer. Since then, I can testify that it really does help! I keep noticing it. I'm like dude this car got quiet. Aswell with improvement in driving, when your driving at a steady speed, you can't even hear the car at all and the car keeps accelerating, maintenaning the speed your going at, Very smoothly. Not that it wasn't like that beforehand, it was, but you know it did something when your driving and it hits you, like damn. So yeah definitely helps. I say it has power to quiet your car down a bit and slightly increases acceleration. It does something that affects the acceleration for sure. I felt it was slightly smoother. Not faster, smoother. It's wierd. Like I said, if you know your car, then you use that stuff, you'll notice it eventually. For me, it hit me about a week into it, I'm like yo the car feels good wth. Lol.
I've always used lucas to help with dry starts. It's in all my cars from my 1979 Lemans to my 07 Lexus RX 400h. Obviously I use the low viscosity in the Lexus. All my motors run great and are always clean inside and out
I'm glad you uploaded this video. I am currently using the low viscosity oil stabilizer and I prefer it than the heavy duty oil stabilizer. They both smooth and quiet the engine the same to me, but the heavy duty stabilizer is too thick for my engine, that I can actually feel it run a tiny bit more sluggish. I didn't expect the low viscosity stabilizer to be that good but I am pleasantly surprised. I actually appreciate how Lucas can achieve the same clinging ability, quieting down the engine, and make the engine operating smoother with a lower viscosity product and with a lesser amount product. Great video.
After I tried Lucas , I became a believer. I use it in all my engines ,lawn mower compressor, even my pressure washer. Never saw the low viscosity before. Need to try it. Thanks.
Before changing the oil and adding Lucas, I would recommend doing an engine flush BG Engine Performance Restore. This stuff can remove contaminants from the engine that normal oil change just won't touch. Lifter noise can sometimes be caused by dirty oil.
All these oil stabilizers are supposed to be addded once the oil reaches maximum temperature, then you keep running the engine...It is better to add it in between oil changes..The results are always great..I never put as much as inducated on the bottle. All engines have differnt needs..I add it,when it needs it..and just what it needs..no more...If you feel your car or motorcyle is sluggish Your viscosity is too thick...
ya, you do the recommended amount of the thick stuff in montana when its -40f..... and good luck getting oil pressure even with 5w-30..... it will take about 10 to 30 seconds (modern VS vintage engines....ETC) so if ya add lucas in the winter here..... might take 120 seconds to get above 4PSI lol like.... i know because ive SEEN it happen on the gauge had a BEAT TO HELL 86 pont 6000 2.5 4 banger..... due to previous owners complete lack of care i never changed the oil in that car.... just spun on a new filter it burned and leaked so much oil..... it was basically a "total loss" system it just changed its own oil as ya drove....(of course, ya had to add some back) ran 20w-50 + lucas in that pos..... still went threw about 2 to 3 quarts per ~3000 miles
My car never knocks unless it is ZERO degrees outside. Maybe for about 3 seconds. With 223,000 on it. I'm more interested in the Oil Stabilizer as it uses a quart of oil every 1,500 miles.
Nate, I have yet to see a comparison between Royal Purple HPS and Amsoil Signature series. Everytime they are compared its Amsoil Signature vs Royal Purples regular API rated oil. If you could be the first to make this happen that'd be great! Thank you for all your hard work👍
no oil or additive will fix a mechanical issue..... like.... if you have a spun bearing that caused a rod knock..... its still gonna knock even if you replaced ALL your oil with lucas now a loose lifter or a slightly worn bearing.... ya, it will help but the motor is still worn out.... the parts and bearings are still loose sure, lucas will help you get another 50,000 or more miles out of it but you will need to use lucas EVERY oil change (and its pretty thick for -40f montana winters....id go 1/2 what the bottle says to add) again.... its not going to FIX!!! anything...... just help it live longer lucas does work..... but AGAIN.... it WILL NOT FIX a mechanical issue however..... "oil alone is not enough" is a BS tagline.... had a WORN out 2.5 iron duke that LOVED the thick stuff.... also fixed a stuck valve (sat for two years )in my sisters 74 ford gran tourino's transmission with the special trans stuff modern day oils ARE enough....its only when you have 200,000+ miles.... or lots of abuse and lack of maintenance .... then "oil alone isnt enough" rings true
Well Nate of course used motor oil and Lucas oil stabilizer that's used and the vehicle needs oil is not going to sound as smooth as Lucas modern with fresh oil and a new oil filter!
My car jerks when changing oil. So I tried Bar's stop oil leaks which was garbage. I then tried Lucas Oil Stabilizer high mileage and it was great. Got rid of all engine jerking. I need to see if low viscosity would have the same effect.
I just used the low viscosity oil stabilizer in my Sienna with a valve train that’s wearing out. Garage said run it till it’s dead because the car isn’t worth the 35 hour repair. 18 hour trip and it ran great with the treatment and did not throw a check engine code. Success for less than $20 this time.
I always use a litter of heavy Lucas oil.stablizer in my 2001 Silveradio 4x4 1500 pickup 5.3 each oil change ! My pickuo has over four hundred twenty eight thousand kms my 5.3 runs smoth very quiet not tick has lots power does not burn oil or use oil ! I love Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer
Will make a worn or damaged engine more quiet, fixes nothing, makes you feel better, ligthens your wallet. All it does is thicken your oil and increases temps. Only Marvel Mystery oil is actually worth a damn for prolonging an engine that may be dirty and have some wear.
Yeah, what about the Pure Synthetic formula? I have an 05 Civic with V-TEC engine. Can I use that product instead of the low viscosity formula? Car takes 5w-20 oil. Had conflictions answers @ auto parts store, so I'm turning to internet, thanks in advance!
I use valvoline 5w30 oil, then I used mobile one 5w30 and the engine started ticking. Then I accidentally used 5w20 and the ticking worsened up. Idk what to do. Do I have low pressure? Was the oil too thin? Are they my lifters? I used seafoam in the oil crankcase, I even used fuel injector cleaner
ANY lucus product is not good for modern engine....with modern engine have oil passages are 4 mm.....and bearing clearance is 100 of one millimeter.....lucus change oil viscocity and oil grade....not good for modern engine.....i donot know about old engine....
I never had problems until now I cranked my truck it was loud with like a tapping noise I was think it was a lifters it just came out of nowhere. I just put the Lucas oil in it. Do I use only 1 quart?
wow.... 94 dB from a modern Ford 4 banger..... it should not be that loud! a co-worker had to have a similiar (if not the same) 4 banger replaced in her 19 fusion block was miss-cast... and had no coolant flow to 1 cylinder.... Ford has REALLY gone down hill after 2011
I want to ask you this ( even i know Lucas products are good), and say the truth, do you just make this video to help people like me to fix their problems with their cars, or you are adverti$ing for Lucas !?
Yes, I bought a new car last year, GDI AND TURBO. aware all these cars have fuel dilution issues, some worse than others, the..Honda 1.5 lL seems to be the worst. I'm running Castrol edge, and I keep a close eye and snif my dipstick to check for gas. I have no increase on the dipstick, at 3000 miles its still on the full mark, no higher. But I can definitely smell gas in the oil. So 3000 mile oil changes seems a good idea. I bought this car, like it fine, and intend to keep it a long time.
Hey Nate thanks for a great video I'm wondering if you can help me decide on if it is acceptable to add either the modern or the heavy duty to my 2008 Toyota Prius that is consuming a lot of oil roughly two and a half quarts in a 5000 miles I have already replaced the PVC valve and spark plugs granted I do have 297,000 miles on this car but it has been a fantastic car with no major issues if you could help me out and tell me what you think I should do I would greatly appreciate it have a wonderful day thanks for a great video
I have a 77 chevy pickup I wanna use the new stuff not the old thick oil seems like it would be better it gets cold where I live. Any body use the new stuff? The thinner stuff?
@@joesmith-fi1sx on older engines around the 2000s, they often reccomended thinner oils for Cafe standards and better mpg but most often the engines can use a 20 weight but would be much happier with 30. I took my Honda off 5w20 and went to 5w30 and it's much quieter, much smoother and I use Mobil 1 with Mobil 1 oil filters from Walmart. I feel pretty pleased with the price and quality and how much quieter the engine is
Yadin Ganon how old ? I have a 1992 mint chev tracker with the 1.6 fi engine I use 10 -30 and a pint of Lucas thick stuff or stp 219000 runs like new no oil consumption change oil every 4000 . I owned it since 1999
anotae my girl friend self destructed at 89000 kmI emailed a consumer program here in Canada market place she was stalled off by the dealership from 48000 km . She was complaining of stalling knocking oil consumption and smoke so bad on passing it blocked local highway at 48000 they stalled her till the time warrant was up but not the milage . I emailed the dealership and CBC market place with all the records and explained how I drove it passed a car at 50 mph and the smoked caused cars and truck s to stop on the highway because they could not see and they thought we were on fire . The dealership claimed it was the design of the pcv system lolol. Having considerable car and engine skill and my hobby of racing modifications and building engines for boats and car and custom painting I challenged them that environment Canada should take a look in the pollution caused by this design any way after a few email they agreed to replace the short block with a new one n/c.The only problem I drove the 2013 Elantra this weekend its down on power and smokes when passing at 60 mph the hope it not repeating after a year on the new motor .The engine is 1.6 gdi also
Yes.... But you must first remove the same amount of oil ounces so that your engine is not overfilled. Yoy can remove thw drain plug amd get the oil oit like that.... Messy but effective.... Or use A manual siphon pump to do the job... Slight modification might be needed with a smaller gauge tubing to fit down your dipstick tubing..... Try to use long enough tubing to connect to siphon pump and have about 6 to 12 inches longer than your dipstick length... You donot want to get that smaller tubing lodged inside your dipstick pipe.... Thats a headache nobody needs. Good luck.
Hi Nate, we have the same problem or ticking noise in our 2010 Kia forte with 102k miles. What type or grade oil do you recommend? 5w-30 or 10w-30? Kia Diagnosis is = Replace Engine @ $6,800☺ Thanks
Thanks for sharing your experience and follow manufacturer's recommendations. My self personally i use 0-40 Mobil1 FS for 1 particular vehicle that has history of engine wear.
Looks like you drained about a quart of oil out at your oil change! If your going to sell snake oil at least compare apples to apples🤔. You were low on oil when using your little noise meter so let me ask you how valid is that👎. Terrible test and now you’ve mislead 1000’s of suckers
if you use 0w16 or 0w20 or 5w20 this is the reason of all noises in your engine use 0w40 or 5w40 the engine sound much better and change the oil every 3k or 4k max my car have 300k it is not burning oil no sludge and run strong take the advice belive me 0w20 is good for polo bears not your engine 😂
I HAVE USED LUCAS IN MY GAS AND HEAVY DUTY OIL STABILIZER IN MY LEXUS . I FIND ON MY TRIP EVERY SEASON 1500 MILE TRIP THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS . MAINTAIN OVER A MILE AND HALF INCREASE IN MILAGE . OVER ITS NON USE BEFORE. MATTER OF FACT I HAVE BETTER MILEAGE THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS THAN THE LOW LANDS ON THIS TRIP AVG 25.1. TO 24.6 . CONFUSING . BUT GREAT NEWS EITHER WAY . 253,708 MILES ON THAT MOTOR . KENT
Would this provide work better in my 05 civic or should I stay with the orginal lucas stablizer? My engine has VTEC, which is a type of variable valuve timing (VVT). Engine has a tick, but I wanted to get some opinions because this product came out after the car was made & uses 5W-20 engine oil, unlike most modern engines using 0w-16 or Ow- ?
@Adam BWould that new "Lucas Low Viscosity stablizer" or what about the "Lucas Full Synthetic" formula work any good @ quieting down my engine noise? The liquid isn't as thick so I don think it'll do much. Car is a slight tick noise. Not sure if it's valves or pisions. Which one of the two would you go with? I'm using Penz oil 5w-20 in another 900 miles next oil change. Thanks bro. Any experience/thoughts?
Chances are you could also need to adjust the valve lash. Old school Hondas like my 02 need it every once in a while, I'm not sure about the 05 though. But yeah Hondas like thicker oil too which keeps em happy longer.
Here is a warning that no one will give you about Lucas Oil heavy duty oil stabilizer. Never use it in a VVT engine because it will clog the filter in your VVT sensor, and your check engine light will pop on under a thousand RPM or while you are breaking. That means you have to drain the oil and change it. I didn't know this so I went out and bought an oil pump. Even though I don't need it, I'm still going to keep it just in case.
@@kirkleaman6863 I have a 2010 Toyota Matrix AWD, and the New formula did the same thing with my VVT sensor. The Oil pressure warning light would flicker every once in a while until I changed my oil, and then it was fine.
Lucas oil is to homeless people because if you have some money you can fix your car with pistons and oil rings news!. saludos cordiales desde Tijuana baja California México.
Maybe the air intake. I removed my throttle body and thoroughly cleaned it simultaneously with a filter change. Put it back on and I couldn’t even tell my motor was running at idle.
