You expressed exactly what I was feeling. I loved his reaction especially that comment. I'm with you. It's official now, I'm a new subscriber. I really enjoy what you doing with your channel.
Im an old metal head and I have enjoyed, loved Luciano for nearly 40 years, Congrats on discovering this music. It eye opening and mind expanding music.
@S2 turbine Ave Maria, Gratia plena Maria, Gratia plena Maria, Gratia plena Ave, Ave Dominus Dominus tecum Benedicta tu in mulieribus Et benedictu Et benedictus frutcus ventris, ventris tu Jesus Ave Maria Ave Maria, mater Dei Ora pro nobis peccatoribus Ora, ora pro nobis Ora, ora pro nobis…
I pray my rosary in Latin. This is the way I learned how to pray it. 50 Hail Marys. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi James, The purity of your responses gives me goose bumps just as much as the music. I enjoy watching you respond to music I know so well and am delighted to see your beautiful emotional face surrender to it. 💞🎶
When the music and artist can transmit the meaning of the lyrics in a different language, that is the power of the a virtuoso performance by a master of their craft. Music, good music, transcends language, culture, age, everything to touch the soul.
This song, is the prayer called "Hail Mary". As a child who attended a small Catholic school in Hawaii, we learned to say this prayer and sing it in church as in the choir. I look and listen to kids now and feel bad that they not know that this song they laughed at is actually a prayer for Christians. I pray something will wake their souls up and they see the light. May the Lord shine his perpetual love, light, and glory. ✌🏼❤🙏🏼🌎🌍🌏🕊
You don't need to react to the negativity. Just know that most of us watching are watching for the shared love of music and the genuine pleasure it gives us to hear old favourites through your fresh true eyes. I am on this journey with you.
the words are beautiful too... they are a prayer: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death. Amen.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. And anytime I hear it - any rendition whatsoever - makes me cry. You are an authentic soul, and a joy.
As an older widow living alone it is so wonderful to watch your reaction to such beautiful music. Music is my comfort and companion and it can feel lonely not having someone to share it with who also appreciates it and is moved by it. Thank you .
So beautiful! My mom used to sing this to me when I was a child. It still brings tears to my eyes and I can feel her right beside me and wish I could still give her a hug.
Goosebumps every time!!!! I was singing along with tears in my eyes. It's one of the most beautiful songs. Never make excuses or apologize for feeling the way you do, you are genuine and not many people these days can day that. Never change!
@@lindahake1666 I will try, but the last time I listened to him I wasn't impressed. Being a vocalist myself and a vocal teacher for some time I noticed some flaws and his technique the couple times I've listened to him I was like he's okay I will listen to that particular version. But of course you have to realize no one can be Pavarotti
Gina...don't think I compared Dimash to Pavarotti but would be interested in hearing about Dimash's technical vocal flaws. What songs have you listened to? Very interesting that more vocal coaches haven't seen these flaws.
Honey, I so love watching you as you discover the phenomenal music of Pavarotti. Ave Maria is simply the prayer Hail Mary, sung on her feast day and, especially, at Christmas. You delight me to no end, Sweetheart! 😍🥰❤
My father had a beautiful tenor voice and sang this song every Christmas in our little town in Germany. My grandmother used to tell us there wasn’t a dry eye in the old cathedral. I love Pavarotti and I think your reactions are perfect. Keep going keep enjoying...stay happy.
Man, you can see your posture change. You can actually watch your body language. You shoulders relax and you're just there with the music, the emotions, the beauty of it. Pure appreciation and I have to respect it. Let those tears flow my guy. Feel those feelings.
You know James, I am 63 and most of the music you react to is something I've heard...may not be my favorite...or it may be!! There is no right or wrong as far as liking or not liking any music. Music that I loved over the years, has been my decision. And I think we all want to expose others to new music and hopefully decide they love it also. Sorta validating..in a way! And it is interesting to see others discovering what we have known for 50 yrs or so! Keep doing what you are doing...fun for you and for us!!
You are certainly correct : Beauty always shines. He had such a gift, he had such control over that gift. It is a beautiful prayer and you can just bring it on, find as many as you can. They are all gorgeous!
Song to the Mother of Jesus to pray for us. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with you (the angel greeted her) Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb (Elizabeth said to Mary) Jesus (The end of the song / prayer is) Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
The joy I see in your face as you discover this master vocalist absolutely heals my heart! We’re all hurting right now...I’ve lost my job, and become homeless recently....but when I listen to how this makes you feel, it brings me hope for the future. Ignore the negativity and know that in striving for more in your own life, you are indeed helping others.
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus..." this song is a prayer. No one sang it quite like Pavararotti. I prefer Mario Lanza overall, but Luciano's rendition of the Schubert classic is my favorite. He had such a powerful range, but such great control. It moves me every time.
One of my late husband’s and my wedding gifts was an opera singer singing this at our wedding. As Catholics, it was the best wedding gift we received. Our Blessed Mother loves all of us as her children.
Ave Maria is a treasured hymn by Roman Catholics all over the world and I am so thrilled this song touched your soul the way it did. It is soothing and peaceful. A true prayer to our Holy Mother Mary. Thanks for your honest reaction. You will find peace listening to this song.
I was so lucky to see Pavarotti sing live when I was young. I worked at Lincoln Center, and I must have seen him sing half a dozen times. He could fill a hall, with or without a microphone. I was a young Black man from The South Bronx who loved all kinds of music. Fortunately , Philharmonic Hall, where I worked my way through college, provided every kind of music conceivable, from Classical to Rock to Jazz to Folk and beyond. Never limit yourself to one type of music. Listen to everything you can get your hands on."Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death"!
Loving some more Luciano! Fun fact: he could not read music. He must only be holding the lyrics in his hands.. I think that was one of if not the first time he sang this piece. He nails the melody but sings the words differently from the way it was composed. Still, everything he sang was gorgeous so who cares!
I think that in this particular case, he had the specifics of this arrangement. This performance is not done "straight through" as a solo, but has the entrance of the choral piece and then they play off each other.
Your joy on hearing a master of the craft is joy to my heart. Music that transcends language is always so pure. Thank you for letting us see your heart.
Just splendid isn't it.. I just closed my eyes and let his fabulous voice wash over me.. Luciano Pavarotti will always be remembered, because his voice was so unique, even on the radio you just know it's him.. @JBLETHAL keep watching and enjoying your musical journey, we will watch with you.. Have a listen to Deanna Durbin singing this and also Mario Lanza, you will not be disappointed James.. Best wishes from Wales UK
Your comment about playing this across the country reminded me of the opera scene from Shawshank Redemption, where an inmate locks himself in the warden's office and plays a piece from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, and the whole prison stops and listens for a few beautiful moments. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qzuM2XTnpSA.html
I appreciate you sharing your reaction to this beautiful song. It actually brings us together, even for a small moment in time. Voices like Pavarotti are here for us the enjoy the sound of life ....... together, no matter the color or race, we connect to this beauty. Thank you for sharing your reaction, truly!
Gorgeous and energizing - your reaction charges us on a spirit level . Pavarotti was the model for my training (Bel Canto) 30 years ago in the Classical/Opera/Oratorio world . He remains at the top of My. Everest . His version of Verdi's Requiem solos are stunning , especially Ingemisco .
Your heart shines through with your reaction to these beautiful songs. You are right. If you play this song in the middle of any group the reaction will be love and awe. We all react to its power and the power of the singer
Your reaction to this was perfect, James. This is the beautiful prayer to the mother of Jesus sung in Latin, the ancient traditional language of the Roman Catholic Church. Luciano Pavarotti was Catholic, so the Ave Maria I'm sure held great meaning for him. Ave means Hail or greetings. Maria is the name, Mary. These are the words spoken by the angel when he appeared to Mary to ask if she would agree to be the mother of Jesus. This is simply the 'Hail Mary' prayer put to music. The Ave Maria was played at Pavarotti's funeral. It has been sung by countless artists even including Barbara Streisand who is Jewish.
Hi James, your reaction and comments are universal for this greatest of tenors and amazing man. Luciano Pavarotti was certainly one of a kind in the history opera and music.
You're a true man with the soul of an artist - it's a privilege to share your reaction to this beautiful music. Do please find a way to continue this journey of discovery, this is what makes being human not just worthwhile but a privilege.

Other people's opinions of you are none of your business. Let them hate. You continue to provide heart-felt, genuine reactions as you always do. Anyone that cant understand your passion for music and your gift for presenting it to the world doesn't deserve your attention! We love you just the way you are, James!
James, that was written by Franz Schubert, one of the greatest classical composers of all time. You are so right.... music does not care two hoots for race, creed, colour, nationality, it could not care less. It just touches the hearts of all mankind, irrespective of people's origins or cultures. It is the one language which unites the whole of mankind.
Luciano Pavarotti was one of most wonderful tenors who ever lived singing one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. May our blessed Lady Mary bless us all with her compassionate love. And bless you in your journey to find music that raises us close to her.🙏🌹
I was 40 when I decided to take vocal lessons and became one of the top female vocalist in the state I was living. Take lessons! I fell in love with Italian. You can do it!
I admire you for reaching to find beautiful things beyond your norm. Classical music has been enjoyed for centuries and thank you for keeping it alive into a new generation!
I came across your channel a few minutes ago, and adore you already! Watching someone fall in love with music they have never heard is so soul-stirring for me. I am a former music major (voice), and have been hoping to find someone like you whose soul, heart, mind, and ears are wide open to the world of music. I had the great fortune growing up to be exposed to all genres. I look forward to watching and encouraging you on your musical journey here! Blessings!
I am an Sicilian-America-Jew, (now living in S. Africa), yet I will love every song this man sings even if it is totally opposite my religion. This is a very famous song sung in Latin. His Italian accent helps soften the certain Latin words that do not end in a vowel as do nearly all Italian words. it is a remarkable performance. It cuts through everything - as you indicated. It touches the soul that we all posses in equal measure.
Your response to the eternal beauty of this music demonstrates why it has endured across centuries, across cultures & languages & if we ever leave Earth, we’ll take it to the stars.
It is wonderful to see you react to classical, Italian opera for the first time. I think all of us have had that reaction and I thank you for sharing yours with us.
Your reaction was perfect man !!! Luciano makes me think this is what angels sound like and your statement about forgetting all the negativity and how it evokes such emotion was beautiful ;) Fabulous reaction
Dear James, this was such a beautiful witness of God’s unconditional love for you. Was so blessed, bursting with joy watching your reaction. Thank you Father God for blessing Jim with this Beautiful gift!!! God Bless Your Soul. “Little Brother”. Much Love. Julie Whittaker. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GRACE✝️🙏🤗💕
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Hail Mary full of grace. Schubert is attempting to reflect the power, and glory of Our Saviour, and His Holy Mother.☘☘☘Greetings from Ireland.
I am also Italian Catholic... this was a song that was always played.. my mother sang opera and has a record singing the Ave Maria... I hope she's singing with the angels in heaven❤
watching your reaction to this song reminds me of why i love this piece so much. i've had a hard time listening to it for years now because i sang it at my grandmother's funeral, so i now associate it with losing her, but it's just such a gorgeous song. I personally prefer female voices on this song, but Pavarotti is just so iconic.
I'm probably late to the game of watching your channel, but I've seen you hear Luciano for the first time with Nessun Dorma, again with La Triviata, and now with Ava Maria, and you, of all the people reacting to discovering this singular talent, this singer with a wild animal in his throat taming it just enough to bring out this miracle, this, as you said, "angel in my ears" and knowing that your life will never be the same... This makes my heart happy, not just for Pavarotti, but also for you and all your listeners. What a joy, what a gift.
Young sir. You owe no one an explaination. I could see your reaction in your face. You were evidently filled to the brim, by the beauty of this music. Sung by the Maiestro himself. Thank you for your playing some really fine musical endeavors. And bringing this fine music to people who never heard it. Thank you.
