I think his play style is super unique. I played a very casual matches with him last night and he felt good to play. I have to sit in the lab a bit more to figure a good gameplay to play into his long cooldowns until the meter is fully built, but i like him so far

From a reddit user. I think this is pretty spot on though "Working his 5U into the gameplan is tricky, but I'm seeing applications for it. I think it's best used when your specials are on cooldown to both waste time, build meter, and zone. The light is a nice projectile, the medium frametraps and drags them towards you like Nier's 22X, and the heavy is an antiair. Him being able to hit hard midscreen then set up oki is worth the extended cooldowns. Only rough part so far is figuring out what to do in combos when specials are gone. Late round with meter he is a beast because you can spam and teleport at will."

Something pretty interesting to note about M (and probably H) hitgrab, the damage depends on how many swords you have. So if you just threw away two of your swords during your stance it will deal 1300 damage (or thereabouts) rather than 1900. It actually only deals 1000 damage (I think) if you have no swords left. So you also need to think about that when using stance.

Bros literally what avatar belial is to Belial but instead of belial, it’s beelzebub. He’s beelzebub+ imo, plays against somewhat similar but he is faster and better knockdown pressure. High risk high reward with his gimmick as well.

22U can be punished on reaction with pretty much any normal. It's +4 on block, but it's not invincible when he appears next to you, and can be interrupted by pretty much anything. 5L, close H, throw, you name it.

It's on the easier end. Gameplay is fairly straight forward. I'd say execution is slightly easier than SF6 Modern controls. The mechanics should be familiar to anyone who's played anime games or Street Fighter. Some examples: Bravery points map to part of the SF6 Drive gauge, such as extending mid screen combos and guard crush/counter, similar to Drive Impact. You can even enter a Burnout-like state when you run out of Bravery Points (you can recover BP by using a SBA). Ultimate skills roughly map to Drive-enhanced specials (using SBA meter instead of Drive). Spot dodge and rolls are pretty nice universal mechanics, too, which aren't as common in other anime fighters.

His defense will be the death of him. No dp is bad but the bigger problem is how abysmal his crouching normals are to check opponents in block pressure. If djeeta does 66L once you are basically just stuck

He doesn’t need a crouching normal to check block pressure with a 5L like that. He can check basically everything with it since it goes so far and is low enough that it even catches some low profile moves on approach.

Seems like you just need to be comfortable being between 2 to 3 level cool down so far. You really just die before 4 or 5 and it doesn’t carryover between rounds

Can't you just DP all his teleport variants? You don't get a lot off of DP but it's consistent and covers all options as far as I'm aware.

Been rushing him to S and will say, the mirror match is so fukin miserable, cause his attack compared to his defense is so polarizing LMAO, so whoever gets out of the gate faster just dictates tempo of the whole match.

I haven't been able to get this game yet, but I can tell my experience on asuka and narmaya (in the beta) are going to help a lot when learning him.

@MrInsiipid I know this, but they do require a somewhat similar setup to be able to do their boss shenanigans and narmaya, mostly just for understanding one button stance changes, even if lucilius' stance is a little closer to Leo's than Narmaya's.
