Also, these stock trouts were raised in a hatchery for all their lives until their release, so they were basically trained to eat anything that looks anything remotely to food. They also develop a feeding habit of first come first serve to survive, which basically teaches these fish to feed aggressively. This results in stock fish that will hit anything and everything when they're intialally released. It'll take them a few weeks or months to have a understanding of what is food and what isn't.

I’m amazed they ate right after stocking! We have a stocked pond in my town & they usually don’t eat for a couple days after being put in. Appreciate your care for the fish too, making sure your hands were wet. Setting a great example for your audience :)

Our coast line watershed is stacked with trash free salmon/ steelhead fishing; Chinook, coho, sockeye, and Pink And if your feeling trophy go sturgeon fishing. We have bass too but not as giant as those in southern states.

Since I mainly fish for bass it's hard for me to stop setting the hook so hard when I fish for trout. I end up ripping the hook out of the trout's small mouth. To bypass this, I just set my drag pretty loose and just set the hook like a regularly do. I love fishing for trout but unfortunately all the trout in my state have died by now. I'm already looking forward to winter time to catch em again. Also it's glad to have you back, you're one of the people that got me into fishing :)

Selected waters will get brood trout in the mix. Brood trout are used for production of stock. They are released when they can no longer produce stock due to aging. They're a lot of fun and they are big. They are also very used to hatchery food.

No they aren’t fragile at all. Tough fish. Just don’t have scales so if you take the slime coating away parasites and other aquatic things can harm it.
